Last night, Nintendo incorporated the latest update forThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildunder the label of patch 1.1.2, with the company’s patch notes being just as cryptic asthe last patch, which fixed the game’s resolution, but simply contained the details of “Adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.” With this being the case, it was up to fans to parse exactly what had been changed, with numerous reports from Reddit now suggesting that Nintendo patched out an exploit that let players farm up to 999 arrows from enemies without taking any damage.
For those unaware,The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildonce contained what was known as the “infinite arrow farming glitch,” and it worked when players put Link in a safe spot near a gathered group of mounted Bokoblin archers. Since the creatures are not the smartest when it comes to the action-adventure game’s AI system, they would keep shooting at Link, but not one would hit him, which would let fans pick up as many arrows as they wanted.

Apparently, though, once Nintendo’s patch 1.1.2 forThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildis applied, fans can no longer use the exploit to stock up on arrow ammunition at an infinite rate. Now, it seems as if Link maxes out at a certain point when collecting the Bokoblins' arrows, as he can no longer keep picking them up after reaching 10.
While Nintendo’s patch 1.1.2 seems to nix the “infinite arrow farming glitch” inThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, some fans are reporting a way to continue getting as many arrows as they want, albeit through a much slower method. As it happens, the workaround involves lighting a campfire and resting for any duration, which resets the counter and lets fans get about 10 more each time.
Of course, the “infinite arrow farming glitch” hasn’t been the only exploit found withinThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildsince its launch. For instance, there have been some fans who discovered a way to getinfinite stamina when riding Link’s horse, and there are likely to be many more tricks found once players continue to experiment with the open world aspects of the game.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildis available now for Nintendo Switch and Wii U.
