Many fans ofVampire Survivorshave likely been wondering when a secret character would be introduced that used Heaven Sword astheir starting weapon. The wait is over as of the most recent patch; which adds two new characters into the game. One of these characters is Gains Boros.

This secret character uses the Dragon Shrimp enemy sprite and uses the evolved form of the Cross - Heaven Sword. Unlike many of the secret characters, Gains Boros does not have a long list of passive bonuses. Fortunately, it is relatively easy, and cheap, to unlock

3Unlocking Gains Boros

The first step towards unlocking this character is toplay the Bone Zone. It doesn’t matter which character the player chooses; though,a character with a faster movement speed will make the process of unlocking Gains Boros go by a little quicker. Players might also want to pick a character with a starting weapon that covers a wide area. Red Death is the perfect choice. The player needs to pick the Bone Zone stage, it doesn’t matterif Hyper Mode is selected.

Head north after spawning. If the merchant is unlocked, getting the La Robba weapon helps due to it spawning projectiles from the top of the screen. The Song of Mana and Knife are also great weapons to get when unlocking Gains Boros. When the player reaches the Silver Ring passive item they are about halfway to their destination, aring of flowersthat constantly contracts and expands. It’s hard to miss

Players might also do themselves a favor and not get close enough to the Silver Ring that its guardian spawns. The player must keep their character in the ring of flowers for ten seconds, after which a chime will sound. Now the player can exit the stage, return to the character select screen, and purchase Gains Boros for 666 gold (the price scales with other characters).

2Gains Boros' Stats

The only passive bonus Gains Boros receives is a+2% Growth (experience) every level. There is no upper limit to this bonus, so at level 100 Gains Boros doubles all experience gained. This is actually one of the better passive bonuses inVampire Survivors.

TheAttractorb passive itemcompliments this passive bonus by making it easier to collect the experience gems dropped by defeated enemies. This secret character has a secret passive bonus. All treasure chests can evolve Gains Boros' weapons, and with its bonus to experience the player can evolve weapons very early in a run.

Selecting Gains Boros in Vampire Survivors

1Using Gains Boros

Something to keep in mind when using Gains Boros is thatthe Vento Sacro and Fuwalafuwaloo weapons fire in the opposite direction. This greatly decreases the usefulness of these weapons, and the Vento Sacro isn’t that good of a weapon anyway.

Obviously, the player will want toget the Crown passive itemfor an extra boost to Growth. Since the player will be getting the Crown, it makes getting the Pentagram weapon a smart pick, as the Gorgeous Moon is one ofthe best weapons inVampire Survivors.
