For those who have been out of the loop for a while, Naughty Dog’s forthcoming action-adventure titleUncharted: The Lost Legacywent goldabout a month ago and has nearly reached its official release date. With this being the case, the developer has partnered with its publisher Sony to celebrate the achievement by putting out a launch trailer for the game just several days ahead of its availability.
As seen below in the launch trailer forUncharted: The Lost Legacy, fans will be privy to plenty of action, gunplay, intricate puzzles, and gorgeous environments as the protagonists Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross attempt to find the fabled mystical artifact Tusk of Ganesha. Not to mention, with the once-side characters now taking the lead roles, Naughty Dog intends on fully fleshing out the back stories for both of the women in order to better explain their roles as well as the details of the franchise.
As has been previously discussed, with Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross taking the reins inUncharted: The Lost Legacy, it means that the original protagonist of the series,Nathan Drake, will be sitting on the sidelines for this outing. As a matter of fact, Naughty Dog has even gone as far as to confirm that the lead treasure hunter from the first four games won’t even make a cameo in this standalone adventure at all, putting the full spotlight on its heroines.
While the story ofUncharted: The Lost Legacyand the associated gameplay mechanics in the campaign are definitely the main draw for fans of the franchise, it won’t be the only mode available to players once it launches. As it so happens, the title will featurethe complete multiplayer suitefrom the fourth entry of the series, and will allow fans to fight alongside players fromA Thief’s End’s servers.
Taking all of this into consideration, it will be interesting to see whether or notUncharted: The Lost Legacyeventually manages to have sales as successful as its predecessor, asUncharted 4sold8.4 million copies in 2016. It’s safe to presume that plenty of those fans will turn around and scoop upThe Lost Legacyas well, but only time will tell if it can meet or beat the feats ofA Thief’s End.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacyis set to launch on July 28, 2025 for PlayStation 4.
