Uncharted 4: A Thief’s Endserved as the final chapter inNathan Drake’s journey. Fans of the series were able to experience Nathan Drake in a different light as they saw him try and live out the life of a normal family man before regressing and delving back into a life of adventure that he’d tried to let go of. It’s an emotional single-player tale that already served as the major reason to purchase and experience this title for many PlayStation fans.
However, Naughty Dog went the extra mile and added a bunch of multiplayer game modes as well. The idea oftakingUncharted 4’s gameplayand integrating it in a multiplayer context was highly engaging. However, if reports are to be believed, then it’s a shame that PC and PS5 players may not be able to enjoy this feature anytime soon.

The re-release ofUncharted 4on the PC and PS5 has finally received an ESRB rating, which suggests that these versions ofUncharted 4will not have the multiplayer mode that shipped with the original game. This conclusion is drawn from the fact that its ESRB rating clearly suggests that these re-releases won’t have any social interactive elements whatsoever.
The ESRB rating has come out forUncharted: Legacy of ThievesCollection, which groups two games —Uncharted 4: A Thief’s EndandUncharted: The Lost Legacy— into one collective re-release for PC and PS5. However, this ESRB rating also features a disclaimer which states that the game has “No Interactive Elements.” In the ESRB Rating Guide, it is clearly stated that Interactive Elements include user interactivity as well, which is a major component of online play. As a result, it is a likely possibility thatthe re-release ofUncharted 4will be devoid of any multiplayer content whatsoever.
People who either loved the multiplayer game modes of the previous games or wanted to try it out for the first time will be sorely disappointed. A lot of work was clearly put into making the multiplayer as diverse and engaging as possible, with a host of game modes added either in the base game or through updates. The fact that all these updates might be missing from the re-release will certainly take the wind out of the sails of most fans who wanted to experienceall the content ofUncharted 4, but shouldn’t bother those only interested in the single-player experience.
Uncharted 4is available on PS4 and will be released for PC and PS5 in early 2022.
