Being left out of the NICKMERCS $50,000 tournament didn’t sit well with the content creator. Only a few hours later, Trainwrecks responded to the situation claiming that EA had contacted him. In a message on his Twitter account, the content creator confirmed what NICKMERCS had suspected: EA wouldn’t let Trainwrecks enter the NICKMERCS $50,000 tournament because of his gambling streams.
Trainwrecks quickly fired back on Twitter, expressing his frustration over the situation. In the tweet by the streamer, he accused EA of corrupt practices. During the tirade, the streamer noted that EA once paid him $150,000 to playApex Legendsfor 4 hours.
Besides claiming that EA paid him thousands of dollars to playApex Legends, Trainwrecks criticized how the company handled previous situations involving microtransactions and accused it of “virtue signaling.” He cited theFIFA series and its controversial history with microtransactionsas an example. He believed that it was hypocritical that the company had banned him for gambling reasons, as he thought the company endorsed this idea through its business practices.
