During the Dorito’s Mix event at E3 2016, Respawn Entertainment shows off the new sword-wielding titan class coming toTitanfall 2multiplayer known as Ronin.
EA and Respawn Entertainment finally officially revealedTitanfall 2during the first annualEA Play event on Sunday, confirming not only the addition of a single player campaign, but a more robust and fast paced multiplayer element as well. Six new titans are planned and while fans only got to see two of them in action during the initial trailer, Respawn has finally confirmed and revealed the titan that most fans have be waiting to see.
During yesterday’s Dorito’s Mix event at E3 2016, Respawn Entertainment pulled the curtain back on the third new titan class coming to the multiplayer side ofTitanfall 2. Known as the Ronin, veteran players may see resemblances to the quick hitting Strider class titan from the first game, with a big difference this time around being the giant sword. Like the Strider, Ronin is capable to a quick dash to either close the gap with it’s enemies or for a quick escape.

Thankfully, Ronin doesn’t appear to be a one trick pony however, as it also comes equipped with a shotgun looking weapon called Leadwall, capable of doing significant damage to close range enemies. Its most unique feature is the sword however, which is enhanced by electricity and capable of launching an electrified attack along the ground called arc wave. Players can also use the sword to block incoming weapon fire and reflecting it back at the enemy as well.
The Ronin titan joins the previouslyrevealed Ion and Scorch titansavailable for players to customize withinTitanfall 2. Respawn has confirmed that the game will feature six new titans in total and that the three from the first game, Ogre, Atlas, and Strider will not be returning to the sequel. Respawn co-founder and CEO Vince Zampella did hint that a few of the new titans may resemble those old ones however, and based on this most recent gameplay, that certainly appears to be true.
Titanfall 2looks to build on the already solid foundation laid by its predecessor introducing what appears to be a deeper multiplayer element thanks tonew tools like the grappling hook, new titans, expanded customization, and new weapons. The biggest change coming in this game however is the inclusion of adedicated single player campaign, something fans were itching for inside of the firstTitanfall. This time around players jump in the shoes of militia rifleman Jack Cooper as he tries to survive with his Vanguard-class titan behind enemy lines.
