Of all the highly anticipated titles with long development cycles,The Wolf Among Us 2is one that a number of people have been waiting for since 2013. Almost ten years later, fans of the series will finally be able to continue the story in the form ofThe Wolf Among Us 2. Though, apparently, the story will be presented in such a way that newcomers will be able to understand.
A commonality that many Telltale Games series share is that most of them possess an overarching narrative that spans across multiple seasons. For instance,Telltale Games' The Walking Deadspans across multiple different seasons and despite introducing new characters and storylines, the focal point of the series has always been Clementine. However, it seems that those looking to playThe Wolf Among Us 2, but haven’t played the first game, won’t have to worry too much.

In a recent interview with Edge magazine, Jamie Ottilie, the CEO ofTelltale Games, mentioned that the first episode ofThe Wolf Among Us 2will be set up in such a way that everyone will be able to understand how the characters got to where they are when the episode begins. If this is to be believed, then it seems that the sequel won’t rely too heavily on its predecessor in terms of how the narrative progresses.
Although, with that information in mind, it begs to question as to which sort of direction the developers wish to takeThe Wolf Among Usin.The ending of the originalWolf Among Uspresented a fairly crucial plot point that could still potentially impact the story of the second game going forward. Then again, it’s difficult to know for sure, considering Ottilie’s recent comments.
While Telltale has provided fans with a ton of new information, following the release of the officialreveal trailer forThe Wolf Among Us 2, there is still a lot of information that is being kept in the dark. Obviously, story details will always be kept secret for as long as possible, but players still have no idea howThe Wolf Among Us 2will work on a gameplay level, should Telltale wish to keep to its original formatting or experiment with something else.
In any case, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for not justThe Wolf Among Us 2but for Telltale Games as well. To say that the last couple of years has been turbulent for Telltale Games would be a massive understatement. WhileTelltale Games will be developing a video game adaptation ofThe Expanse,alongsideThe Wolf Among Us 2, it’s hard to know where the studio will go from here.
