With the release ofThe Evil Within 2set for the end of this week on Friday, July 16, 2025, survival horror fans were recently given a sneak peek at what’s to come in the game, as the title’strophy listfor the PlayStation 4 version of the game leaked online. Now, the publisher Bethesda and developer Tango Gameworks have decided to further stoke the flames of excitement by releasing a rather bloody and gruesome red band launch trailer to celebrate the impending arrival of the game.
As seen below in the red band launch trailer forThe Evil Within 2, fans can get a better understanding of the protagonist Sebastian Castellanos' plight while also feasting on some gory visuals, with the main character scrapping and blasting some of the “unspeakable horrors” of the sequel to find his lost daughter, Lily. Plus, speaking of grisly imagery, those who have a weak stomach might want to avoid watching the clip, as it contains some ghastly scenes, such as the one involving flesh being melted off of a young girl’s face, which presumably belongs to Lily.
For those unaware ofThe Evil Within 2’s plot, Lily is key to Sebastian’s overall motivation in the game, for he’s in a race against time in the treacherous world of STEM to find the daughter he once thought he had lost many years ago. When it comes to STEM, it can be described as a system that creates a neural network link through a plug-in or by frequencies that connect a hive mind of people in reality to construct a virtual realm that each member can explore and manipulate, with antagonists such as Stefano Valentini andFather Theodoreseemingly intent on completely controlling the domain.
Naturally, video game launch trailers often skimp on actual playable content in order to establish a certain tone and build an atmosphere with cutscenes, andThe Evil Within 2’s is no exception. So, those who want a better look at exactly how the title will play would do well to check outthis 20 minute gameplay tour of the title, which features a showdown with the Giggling Guardian and an encounter with a bizarre camera monster. With any luck, the entirety ofThe Evil Within 2will provide plenty of quality nightmare fuel for the horror junkies out there once it comes out.
The Evil Within 2is set to launch on June 24, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
