While many players have been excitedly awaiting the update that would introduceThe Division 2’s World Tier 5, the implementation of this new patch has certainly not been without its issues. Indeed, players have been encountering bugs with things like weapon damage and overly aggressive AI, and a recently discovered exploit even resulted in the game’s daily and weekly projects being temporarily disabled. Now, yet another bug has surfaced, and this one seems to affect Damage to Armor bonuses.
As shared by Reddit user u/Fears_Revenge, Damage to Armor bonuses, which are meant to increase weapon damage against armor, don’t seem tobe functioning correctly at this time. This is demonstrated in two images shared by the Redditor, one of which shows the bug in effect in the firing range and the other depicting the same issue occurring inThe Division 2’s Dark Zone.

That said, it does not appear that the Damage to Armor bug affects all aspects ofThe Division 2. Specifically, Fears_Revenge shared a third image of a PvP test where the bonus is functioning properly. As such, it is advisable not to rely on Damage to Armor in PvE combat at this time.
In many responses to Fears_Revenge’s post, players echo the sentiment that a number of the game’s talents, skills, and perks are currently nonfunctional. Some of these players suggest that these bugs are even keeping them from grinding for new gear, as they are not confident that loot will be working as intended when it is found.
However, other fans are quick to remind these frustrated players thatThe Division 2’s release date was less than one month ago, and many other live service games are facing challenges as well. That said, despite the accolades that Massive Entertainment received upon the game’s smooth launch, the community’s attitude has changed markedly since the release of Tidal Basin and the Invasion Update.
The broken Damage to Armor perk bonus is, of course, not game-breaking, but it is certainly another symptom of a bigger issue that is currently plaguing the game. Hopefully, Massive is able to address these fundamental problems prior to the release of thefirstThe Division 2raidlater this month.
The Division 2is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
