Temtemhas released patch 1.2.1 which will finally allow players to chat during most types of battles. Meanwhile, a variety of quality-of-life changes that have long been requested by players have also made it into the patch.Temtemplayers may also notice some new music variations, UI improvements, and helpful rarity indicators on many items.
Crema’s creature-collecting MMORPG was already enjoying plenty of hype beforeTemtemlaunched out of Early Accesslast year, having sold over 500,000 copies the month it arrived on Steam. Often regarded as a more mature variation of the classicPokemonformula,Temtemoffers slightly more complex mechanics and features that appeal to players who enjoyedPokemonas kids but are seeking something with more depth. Although there is plenty of single-player content, its ultimate endgame as an MMORPG is for players to compete against each other with their teams. Naturally, this kind of game relies on regular support from its developers to fix issues and improve its features post-release.

The newTemtemupdateis a little light on content but still offers a few welcome changes. The main addition is the ability to chat during battles, although the chat window is hidden by default. Players will be able to use chat during friendly competitive matches and PVE, but will not be able to use it during Ranked matches, in-game tournaments, or Dojo Wars most likely to prevent toxic behavior from spoiling more competitive modes. Similar to the Battle Log, pressing the associated hotkey will enable the chat window. New music variations have also been added to each island in the form of a competitive battle theme.
Another change that has been often requested byTemtemplayersis a tweak to the game’s idle cameras. To reduce possible motion sickness, the camera movement has been slowed to 1/3 of its original speed. The idle camera also won’t kick in for 12 seconds, which should be far less annoying than the 5-second window it used to have. The developers noted that rather than disabling the idle cameras at the request of players, they’d like to first try improving the camera system so that it can continue to add some variety to the game.
Temtemplayers should also notice fewerperformance issues on the Nintendo Switchversion as Crema continues ironing out crashes and other problems on the console. As expected, the patch includes dozens of other minor bug fixes and balance adjustments.
