Considering the ratherlarge posters in downtown Los AngelespromotingStar Wars Battlefront 2, it stands to reason that DICE and Electronic Arts are planning on giving the forthcoming science fiction shooter ample space during E3 2017 to strut its stuff. Now, in an additional promotional effort, the companies have released a brief piece of footage teasing a full trailer to come tomorrow during EA’s press conference for this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.
As seen below in the short clip from the official PlayStation Twitter account, fans ofStar Wars Battlefront 2can get a quick gander at several Separatist battle droids gearing up to presumably do their worst against the film series' prequel-era clone soldiers in the Grand Army of the Republic. Although little is shown, one can safely guess that the segment of footage has been taken from a cinematic portion of the game.
Of course,Star Wars Battlefront 2will be represented at E3 2017 in a much bigger way beyond just a trailer, as DICE and Electronic Arts also have scheduled agameplay reveal of a 40-player battlefeaturing a Naboo map called the Assault on Theed. In order to bring the gameplay to life, the developer and publisher have hired on the help of YouTubers and Twitch streamers such as JackFrags, Darkness429, StoneMountain64, and Neebs Gaming to go hands-on in two teams of 20 for a live stream during EA Play.
As manyStar Wars Battlefront 2fans are well aware at this point, the forthcoming first-person shooter won’t just be a multiplayer experience, as its creators have confirmed that the title will have its ownsingle-player campaignas well. With this being the case, there’s also a good chance for fans to be shown some more footage involving the story mode’s protagonist, Commander Iden Versio.
All things considered, it’s possible that the majority of what is shown during E3 2017 forStar Wars Battlefront 2will be never-before-seen material, but considering the game was officially revealed with a rather sizeable amount of assets already, there’s also the potential for DICE and EA to simply use its press conference as a means to reinforce what’s already known. That said, though, the best marketing strategy for the companies to make would be to show off as many of its fresh wares for the title as possible, as the Electronic Entertainment Expo provides one of the largest and most visible annual platforms to promote and celebrate games.
Star Wars Battlefront 2is slated to release on July 27, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
