As anostalgia-provoking JRPG,Soul Hackers 2does a good job of remaining loyal to the initial gameplay. When it comes to endings though, the game takes a modern turn, introducing an alternative, secret cutscene. Yes, there is a “True Ending” inSoul Hackers 2.

The secret ending inSoul Hackers 2can be unlocked in the final chapter, at the 24th Ward Municipal Tower. However, many players miss it because the game gives no tip-offs. Players just have to find it on their own. That’s about to change, though, thanks to this quick guide.

How to Get the True Ending in Soul Hackers 2

In the 24th Ward Municipal Tower, players should choose “I don’t” when Aion asks questions, and then select “Reach out to her” after the final boss fight. This will initiate the True Ending, also known as the happy ending inSoul Hackers 2.

For the first part, players should interact with the four holograms and disagree when Aion asks, “do you agree with their decisions?” Doing so grants Ringo Moonlight Keys, which she needs to achieve the True Ending.

For the second part, players will need to wait forthe final boss fightwith Cyber Aion to end and then simply select “Reach Out for Her” instead of “Let Her Go.” After that, Ringo hacks into Figue’s soul, unlocking the alternative ending.

What Do You Get for Unlocking the Secret Cutscene?

Upon beatingSoul Hackers 2with the True Ending, players earn the Paradise Lost trophy/achievement. However, nothing extra is achieved besides that. The only reason to get the True Ending is 100%-ing the game. Without Paradise Lost, the ultimate achievement remains locked, blocking the way to completing the campaign.

How Does the True Ending Differ from the Normal Ending?

In the normal ending, Ringo lets Figue go. In True Ending, shehacks into her soul, convinces her to fight her way back, and eventually brings her back to the world. That is the main difference between the alternate cutscenes.

Despite the minor difference inthe characters’ fates, the True Ending is much longer than the normal one. The cutscene takes players into Figue’s inner world, where she’s facing a dilemma, wondering whether being with Raven is a good idea. Luckily, Ringo convinces her to get back to life, and even Raven assures her that the story is not finished yet.

Soul Hackers 2is available now for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
