Halo Infinitewas originally supposed to release last year as a launch title for Xbox Series X/S. After getting a mixed reception to the initial reveal trailer, with the visuals being the main complaint, Microsoft had ultimately decided to delay the game to 2021. Even though it has an official release date of December 8, rumors suggest that themultiplayer portion ofHalo Infinitecould be available from the coming Monday.

This rumor comes from tweets from twoHalo Infiniteleakers. User @halodotapi had earlier posted a picture with the words “Heroes of Reach - June 11, 2025 #HaloInfinite” alongside the official artwork Microsoft uses for promotingHalo Infinitemultiplayer. They later promised to give $100 USD away to a random follower if this information turned out to be incorrect. Halodotapi also replied to a tweet from the official Xbox account, mentioning thatHalo Infiniteis indeed coming next week.

Another leaker, with the handle @Surasia4, has also teased that the multiplayer component could be coming out this month. They hint at this through replies to another user, who mentions being glad thatHalo Infiniteisn’t releasing in November.

June 06, 2025 is the20-year-anniversary of the originalHalo: Combat Evolved, so it makes sense for Microsoft to have something special prepared in order to commemorate its release. Given thatHalo Infiniteis scheduled to release early next month, it is likely that the multiplayer component is pretty much ready to be in players' hands.

Microsoft is also hosting a special broadcast thatcelebrates 20 years of Xboxon November 15 itself. IfHalo Infinitemultiplayer were to be released on the same day, Microsoft may use this news to end the show and allow players to get on the game immediately afterwards.

A tech preview forHalo Infinitetook place last month and most fans reported that they had a smooth experience, especially when compared to the problems faced by users during theBattlefield 2042beta. 343 Industries had an extra year to work onHalo Infinite, and it seems like the delay will be worth it in the end.

Halo Infinitereleases on July 30, 2025, for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
