Shortly after the release ofResident Evil 2remake, it is clear that the modding community is having a blast with creating mods for the survival-horror title. After only a few days since the game’s launch, several mods already popped up such as an attempt to bring backfixed camera angles, a feature that defined the early installments of theResident Evilfranchise.

Now, a new mod surfaces online, which shows the angry side of the game’s female heroine, Claire Redfield. InResident Evil 2, zombies are infamous for their resiliency to firepower even when the player empties a full clip on the creature’s head. While some welcomed the added challenge to the game, others were frustrated with the amount of ammo needed to shoot down a single zombie.

This frustration is more likely the inspiration behind a mod created by YouTuber FluffyQuack, which alters the game’s code so that Claire Redfield would always blurt out angry remarks when fighting an enemy. While these angry comments by the game’s protagonist are present in the vanilla version of the remake, the mod ensures that Claire would curse and call the zombies names, every time she encounters one. The funny thing about this Angry Claire mod is that it adds a sense of realism, given that it reflects the frustration of killing the ultra-resilient zombies in the game.

Of course, givenResident Evil 2’sshort campaign, it is understandable that some players would have resorted to making these mods to fill in the void left after the completion of the game’s main storyline. Luckily,Capcom released the first significant updatetoResident Evil 2in the form ofGhost Survivors. This DLC introduces alternative scenarios that center around the non-playable characters from the game such as gunshop owner Robert Kendo, the daughter of Raccoon City’s mayor, Catherine Warren, an unnamed U.S.S. agent, and the sheriff encountered by the players at the beginning of the primary campaign.

Now thatResident Evil 2has been out for quite some time now, some fans are already patiently waiting for what Capcom plans to do next with the franchise. Of course, given the warm and positive reception received by the latest remake, it is not surprising ifthe remake ofResident Evil 3is already in the works.

Resident Evil 2Remake is now available for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
