Not too long ago, John Koller, the vice president of PlayStation brand marketing, revealed that the open world Western titleRed Dead Redemptionwould be coming to PC and PS4 by way of aplayable version on PlayStation Now"soon." Thankfully, it seems as if that time is almost here, as the developer Rockstar has officially revealed that the game will be available through the streaming service on both of the aforementioned platforms next week on Tuesday, December 6.

For those unaware, the PlayStation Now edition ofRed Dead Redemptionwill essentially be the PS3 version of the game. Alongside its release on the service will be the launch of the title’s fan-favorite and critically acclaimed expansion pack known asUndead Nightmare, which incorporates a zombie-themed campaign, as well as a wave-based, Horde-styled multiplayer mode.

Once next Tuesday arrives, it will be the first time forRed Dead Redemptionto grace the PC platform in any official capacity, and it should make personal computer gaming fans incredibly happy. After all, fans pleaded for a PC portfor the longest time after the game’s release way back in 2010.

As far asRed Dead Redemptionmaking the leap from the last console era and onto the PlayStation 4 is concerned, the Rockstar title will now be available to play on two major current generation systems. Not only willRDRtake its place on the PS4, but also it’s already available on Microsoft’s latest platform by way ofthe Xbox One’s backward compatible feature.

Beyond the originalRed Dead Redemption, Rockstar Games also has a proper followup in the works withRed Dead Redemption 2. Interestingly enough, the developer has only confirmed the sequel for PS4 and Xbox One, despite fans' starting anonline petition for a PC versionto make its way onto home computers.

AlthoughRed Dead Redemptionand its forthcoming sequel being included on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One seems to be of major import to Rockstar and fans at large, Nintendo platforms have gotten the shaft and could possibly miss out on havingRDR 2show up on the Switch. As a matter of fact, some analysts are surmising thatchances of a Nintendo Switch port are “poor"when it comes to the next entry in the Western saga. Nevertheless, withRed Dead Redemptionsoon being available on PC, it’s really anyone’s guess as to whether or not the Big N’s next console will be another home forRDR 2.

Red Dead Redemptionis set to launch on PC and PlayStation 4 via PlayStation Now on Jul 22, 2025, and the game is currently available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One by way of backward compatibility.
