It’s nothing new to see gamers find ways to bring their favorite pieces of non-game media into the realm of gaming. Hardly a week goes by without somepopular show being recreated inAnimal Crossing: New Horizons. That said, there’s something delightfully unusual about seeing someone useRainbow Six Siegeof all games to recreate the intro to the cult sitcomScrubs.
Rainbow Six Siegeis no stranger to crossovers. It was the theme of a special crossover event inGhost Recon Wildlandsback in 2018, and it’s going to be gettingSplinter Cell’s Sam Fisher in its next major update. That’s not even getting into all of the countless otherfictional universesRainbow SixSiegecould technically crossover with. Still, it might seem a little weird to pair the gritty tactical shooter with a 2000s comedy-drama about medical interns, but YouTuber Jolly Pirate Donut makes it work.

For those who have never watched it,Scrubs’ intro consists of a tracking shot that sees multiple characters superimposed over one another as they carry a x-ray chart across a room and place it on a backing light. In Jolly Pirate Donut’s version, those medical employees becomeRainbow SixSiege’s Operators, and instead of placing an x-ray on a light, they’re placing a breach charge on a wall, which is immediately blown up once the intro song ends, for that extra bit of comedy.

What’s especially memorable about the intro is the way it manages to convey the average rhythm ofScrubs' hospital life in just under fifteen seconds, and Jolly Pirate Donut does an impressive job translating that to a rhythmSiegefans will be familiar with: having walls explode on them suddenly. It’s a clever bit of editing that suitsSiegewell while helping to remind fans of one the things that madeScrubssuch a fondly-remembered show to this day (apart from theepisodes ofScrubsthat featured blackface, that is).
It’s always neat to see players figuring out ways to make their own content in more non-creation-based games like this one, but chances are players are mostly interested in the content Ubisoft is bringing to it soon. Luckily, thenext big update forSiege, Operation Shadow Legacy, will be adding more of that soon. Aside from introducing Sam Fisher to the game as its next Operator, it will introduce plenty of other features, such as new weapon scopes, map adjustments, a reworked ping system, and more.
