Remedy Entertainment marketing manager Thomas Puha claims that the long in-development Xbox One exclusiveQuantum Breakis ‘so close’ to being finished.

The early days of the Xbox One were rough for the system. It suffered significant backlash after its reveal event, with people comparing the console’s look to that of a VCR, and many bemoaning the forced always-online functionality. Despite these issues, the Xbox One debut had some bright spots, with one being thereveal trailerfor Remedy Entertainment’sQuantum Break, an innovative, time-bending action game. Three years after its reveal,Quantum Breakis nearly complete, according to Remedy’s marketing manager Thomas Puha.

Puha took to Twitter to discuss the game, saying that development is “so close” to being finished. Puha went on to say that theQuantum Breakdevelopment team is in “crunch mode”, which refers to developers working especially long hours to ensure a project is done in time for release.

“Not too much time left.Quantum Breakis so close to being done. Team is getting pretty tired, but inspiring to see the camaraderie.”

While it may not necessarily be healthy for the team at Remedy to spend such an extreme amount of time working onQuantum Breakin the months leading up to release, the studio can ill-afford another delay.Quantum Breakwas originally meant to release in 2014, but has suffered a number of delays since then, and if fans are forced to wait any longer, it’s possible they may lose interest.

That being said, the delays were probably for the better in regards toQuantum Break’s development. Sam Lake of Remedy has said previously thatQuantum Breakhas to be “awesome”, and many times in the industry, creating a truly excellent game means at least a couple of delays. All things considered, fans probably are for the previous delays as long as it results in a better game, but it definitely behooves Remedy to put its nose to the grindstone, so to speak, to keep the game from being delayed again and becoming a joke likeDuke Nukem Forever.

Remedy has been developingQuantum Breakfor over five years now, and it looks like the studio is putting forth their very best effort to ensure a high quality experience for Xbox One owners. It remains to be seen if thetelevision/video game combinationwill resonate with gamers, but there’s no denying the innovation and uniqueness behind the idea.Quantum Breakhas been in development for a long time, but it’s also bringing to the table a new kind of gaming experience. If Remedy keeps up the hard work, another delay should be avoided, andQuantum Breakwill hit its April release date with no problem.

Quantum Breakis set to release on April 5th, exclusively for the Xbox One.
