PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, orPUBG, is one of the most genre-defining games in the long list of battle royale titles. However, sometimes the classics need to borrow a thing or two from games that come along after, and if a new survey shared by Twitter user PlayerIGN is anything to go by, it looks likePUBGis thinking of doing just that.
Fresh off the heels ofPUBG Mobileadding power armorto the handheld edition, the regular version ofPUBGhas reportedly sent out a questionnaire asking fans for their thoughts on specific features that could be added to the game. New features are added to games all the time, but it’s more rare for the developer to reach out to fans directly and ask for their input.

Among the featuresPUBGis asking its fans to consider are a “construct cover” feature and a “revive” feature, both of which are already elements ofFortnite,a game that is currentlydominating the battle royale market. Another massively popular battle royale game,Apex Legends, also has its own revive mechanics, so in some ways it seemsPUBGis looking to play catch-up.
There are several ideas on the list of possible features that appear to be completely original. One such idea is the ability to send out false team locations to the enemy in order to confuse them, and another is a tool or item that would allow the player to look into a high-risk enemy death crate from a far distance.Apex Legendsis also considering new featuresall the time, and it’s likely all the other major battle royale games are doing the same thing behind the scenes, so it’s possible a similar feature could pop up in another game and beatPUBGto the punch.
Considering thatPUBGjust released its newest Update 10.3a few days ago, it’s uncertain when any of the features on the list could potentially be implemented into the game. It will also be interesting to see which of the features, if any, are chosen by the fans.
For now, players can enjoy the Lunar New Year event running inPUBGand dream of the day they might be able to build defensive cover in the game. That is, unless they’re one of thetwo million players banned fromPUBG Mobilelate last year.
