The Elite Four are the cream of the crop when it comes to trainers in thePokemongames, beaten only by the Champion of each region. Using a team of one type the player must defeat the Elite Four (and then the Champion) to complete the game.

However, despite the Elite Four being the supposed hardest trainers some opponents are more than their fellow peers. If one Pokemon can take out an entire trainer’s team then can they be considered as one of the ‘Elite Four’? These are the 10 weakest Elite Four members in thePokemongames.

Bruno In Pokemon Generations Anime

10Bruno - Kanto

Despite being a Fighting-type expert Bruno has two Onix on his team inPokemon Red, Blue & Yellowand alsoFiredRed & LeafGreenwhich only weakens his team due to Onix having four times weaknesses to both water and grass.

The rest of his team consists of fighting types including Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan and Machamp, with not many move variations among his team a Flying-type or Psychic-type Pokemon can make light work of the Kanto Elite Four member’s team.In Red & BlueHitmonchan has the elemental punches which is great for type coverage, but this isn’t repeated in Bruno’s later appearances.

Olivia In Pokemon UltraSun & UltraMoon

9Olivia - Alola

Rock is one of the weaker types in the franchise due to its many weaknesses, so having an Elite Four member specializing in this type isn’t the best of ideas. Olivia has a decent squad with Relicanth, Lycanroc and Alolan Golem to name a few.

A Ground-type Pokemon will steamroll Olivia’s party with a Grass-type to take on Relicanth, her team lacks variation in the moves to counteract Rock’s weaknesses. Three of her Pokemon even have just three moves, there was scope to add some variation but for whatever reason GameFreak decided to make this battle easy for even a rookie trainer.

Kahili In The Pokemon Anime

8Kahili - Alola

Another member of Alola’s Elite Four, Kahlili has a decent squadcomprised of her Flying typeseach that has a unique secondary typing, making her team well-balanced.

But despite this, the Flying-types weaknesses to Electric, Ice and Rock are still too much for her team to handle given the right switching and correct preparation. With one move for each of these types to counter one weakness, it just isn’t enough to pose a threat to the player. But at least there is something there as opposed to some on this list.

Rika In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

7Rika - Paldea

A new addition to the Elite Four, Rika represents one of Paldea’s best inPokemon Scarlet & Violetwith her team of Ground-types. Ground is weak to Grass, Ice and Water and there are a few moves and typings on Rika’s team that can counteract, but sadly not enough to make it a challenge.

Camerupt is a strong choice of Pokemon that can take care of Ice and Grass Pokemon, but with being four times weak to Water it won’t stand a chance. There is nothing on Rika’s team that can deal with Water Pokemon and that is a big flaw in her battle.

Marshal In Pokemon Black2 & White2

6Marshal - Unova

Unova started a trend in Pokemon where the Elite Four only had four Pokemon instead of five, which made the battles a whole lot easier. Marshal’s squad consists offour pure Fighting-type Pokemon, Throh, Sawk Conkeldurr and Mieshao, every one of these Pokemon has Stone Edge which is a great counter to the Flying-type Weakness.

With Flying-types largely covered it is the Psychic weakness which is hard for Marshal to defend against, Throh has Payback, a Dark-type move but other than that a Psychic Pokemon can obliterate Marshal’s team of four.

Glacia In Pokemon Ruby

5Glacia - Hoenn

Ice is another type in the Pokemon games that has a lot of weakness, Fire, Rock, Steel and Fighting all pack a punch against the frozen Pokemon. in Glacia’s case, her team only has coverage against the Fire-type.

With a team of five Pokemon which include two Glalie’s, two Sealeo’s and her ace a Walrein. Two of her Pokemon aren’t even fully evolved, meaning this battle can be a breeze. A Fighting-type will have a field day against her and there is very little she can do. Hoenn has some hard opponents but Glacia certainly is not one of them.

Grimsley In Pokemon Masters

4Grimsley - Unova

Grimsley is a Dark-type trainer which is a good type to specialize in as it only has two weaknesses in Bug and Fighting, which are covered well in Grimsley’s team. Scrafty is part-fighting whichneutralizes both of Dark’s weaknessessmeaning only Flying is weak to it.

Two of his Pokemon have Aerial Ace, a Flying move with will counter the Fighting type, however, his team just doesn’t look strong enough to really do some damage. With just four Pokemon against 6, the odds are definitely in the player’s favor, even if Grimsley’s team is well-balanced.

Bertha In Pokemon BrilliantDiamond & ShinninPearl

3Bertha - Sinnoh

InDiamond & Pearl, three of her Pokemon are 4x weak to Grass moves, which leaves just two that are regularly weak with not a single move on her Ground-type squad that can do any real damage to grass types.

Pokemon Platinumfixed this adding Gliscor to her roster which is part Flying-type and has Ice Fang and Fire Fang to counter Grass, however, the player can simply switch to a Water-type to easily dispatch it. Sinnoh has the strongest Champion in the games in Cynthia but Bertha before her doesn’t hold the same weight.

Siebold In The Pokemon Anime

2Siebold - Kalos

Just like with the Unova Elite Four, in Kalos, they only have four Pokemon, Siebold’s teamconsists of the Water typesof Clawitzer, Gyarados, Starmie and Barbaracle. Grass and Electric types will have the run over Siebold, but there are a few ways he can counter like Barbaracle having X-Scissor and Gyarados using Earthquake.

The four Pokemon are a massive weakness on Siebold’s side Gyarados can be taken down with one Electric move thanks to its four times weakness, six vs. four should be easy work for any trainer.

Aaron In Pokemon BrilliantDiamond & ShinninPearl

1Aaron - Sinnoh

Without a doubt, the weakest Elite Four member is Aaron from Sinnoh who usesthe incredibly weak Bug-typeas his signature specialty. Bug is a type with a lot of weaknesses, Fire, Flying, Poison and Rock and any strong Pokemon of just one of these types can sweep Aaron’s team.

Beautifly and Dustox should be nowhere near an Elite Four members team as they are not strong enough. If the player picks Infernape, this battle is over before it even starts. Sinnoh has some weak members of the Elite Four but Aaron is a walk in the park.
