Having spent eight months incubating on PC,Temtemis finally gearing up for a full console release, and it seems that PS5 players win the luck of the draw. The colorful MMORPG will be a PS5 exclusive upon console release, with an Early Access version arriving as soon as this December.

Players will be able to purchase and download the Early Access PS5 version ofTemtembeginning December 8th, 2020. After that, the game will be continually updated until it reaches its complete “first” form, and Version 1.1 is released as the full game. Eventually, it will make its way to other consoles as well.

Temtemis a game that builds upon the monster-taming RPG conceptthatPokemonmasterfully solidified with its franchise. It allows players to tame and raise adorable “Tem,” while maintaining their own custom house, battling friends, and completing the game’s campaign mode. Players will be able to explore six total islands in the full release ofTemtem, though they aren’t all currently available.

The game isset to feature over 100 unique Tem, some of which are classified as mythical, and some of which bear unique colors, like the Shiny Pokemon that so many Pokemon Trainers love. Moreover, the game boasts fully comprehensive co-op functionality. BecauseTemtemis a “massively multiplayer creature-collection adventure” players can expect the entirety of its campaign to be available in co-op mode. So unlike co-op friendly games likeGenshin Impact, which restrict players to a certain mode(s),Temtemallows players to carry out the whole story campaign with friends, if they so choose.

Temtemwas also originally slated for a PS4, Switch, and Xbox One release, but unfortunately, that is no longer the case. Recent announcements indicate thatTemtemis only coming to Nintendo’s Switch eventually, if anything, before ultimately making its Early Access console debut as a PS5-exclusive. PS4 and Xbox One users will have to wait until the game’s next-gen release to get their hands on a playable console copy.

Insofar as content, pre-order ofTemtemallows Early Access to the game on December 8th, special pre-order cosmetics, and eventual access to the full release. The Special Edition pre-order features the same things, but also includes a special in-game camo outfit (which is a tough sell for the ~$20 upcharge). That said, the main draw of the Early Access is undeniably its low cost: the price will increase followingevery update toTemtem, leading up to Version 1.1, which will be sold at a finally-stable full release price of ~$60.

Temtemis available now on PC, and will be available for Early Access on PS5 on December 8th, 2020. Switch and Xbox Series X versions are also in development.
