APokemonfan artist has shared their vision for what a potential Ghost-type evolution for Eevee would look like. Eeveen has remained one of the most popular Pokemon in the entirePokemonfranchise since its debut in the Generation 1 games, and a large part of that is thanks to its incredibly unique evolution line.

Whereas most Pokemon have linear evolutions and can only evolve into one specific Pokemon, Eevee can evolve into many different Pokemon. When Eevee is exposed to special evolution stones or other specific requirements are meant, it can evolve into a variety of Pokemon of different types. Originally, Eevee could evolve into Flareon (Fire), Jolteon (Electric), and Vaporeon (Water), but theEevee evolutions(or “Eeveelutions,” as fans call them) have since expanded to include many other Pokemon types.

On the other hand, there are still many Pokemon types that have yet to get their own Eevee evolution, Ghost-type among them. ManyPokemonfans have designed their own versions ofGhost-type Eevee evolutions, with Reddit user ichbinmac the latest to do so. Ichbinman designed a Ghost-type evolution for Eevee dubbed Ghouleon, which gives the Pokemon a creepy makeover and a purple/black color scheme.

Ichbinmac did not provide a backstory explaining how Eevee would evolve into Ghouleon, but other fan artists that have tackled the concept have come up with all kinds of ways the evolution could occur. In one instance, it was suggested that starving Eevee could evolve it into a Ghost-type, while another suggested thatEevee would evolve into a Ghost-typewhen leveled up at night and holding a specific item, like ectoplasm.

While a Ghost-type Eevee still doesn’t exist in thePokemonfranchise at the time of this writing, the recently-releasedPokemon Scarlet and Violetgames did add a Ghost-type dog to the franchise’s ever-expanding roster of catchable monsters in the form of Greavard. According to its Pokedex entry inPokemon Scarlet, Greavard is believed to be a dog Pokemon that died in the wild before it was ever able to interact with a human.Greavard can evolve to Houndstonewhen it reaches level 30, but its evolution line stops there.

It remains to be seen if Game Freak will ever create a Ghost-type Eevee evolution, or if the studio will ever bother to make any other new Eeveelutions at all. There hasn’t been a new Eevee evolution sinceSylveon was introduced inPokemon X and Ynearly a decade ago, so fans shouldn’t hold their breath for a new one at this point.
