While some gaming fans are pondering whether or notOverwatchwill eventually go on toenhance eSports' popularity, others are thinking about the game in a much different way by using Blizzard’s multiplayer first-person shooter as inspiration to write songs. As it happens, the self-proclaimed “British geek” rapper named Dan Bull who spits verses about “games, politics, the Internet, and feelings” has just recently put together a blazing track aboutevery character in the game, and posted it to his YouTube channel.

For those unfamiliar with Dan Bull,Overwatchisn’t the first video game that he’s covered with his songwriting abilities. In the past, the UK rapper penned an extremely popular tune about Bethesda’s critically-acclaimedThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, and even showed some love to another game published by the Maryland-based studio by rapping about the Arkane Studios-developed stealth-action titleDishonored.

As seen in Dan Bull’s video below forOverwatch, not only are his verses chock full of a marvelous wordplay, cheeky turns of phrase, and an impeccably dexterous flow that can stop on a dime and change direction at a moment’s notice, but also the music itself is wonderful, with a chorus that’s absolutely on point. With this being the case, even if there are some gamers out there who may not happen to be rap fans, they should take a chance on this song, because they may walk away surprised with the production’s extremely high quality.

Of course, Dan Bull isn’t the only MC to use his microphone prowess to espouse verses about video games. There are plenty out there, such as the 2000 track ofDel the Funky Homosapien’s “Proto Culture,“which features the rapper detailing his love affair with the medium while masterfully flowing over a beat that samples the character Morrigan’s theme song fromDarkstalkers. Naturally, the trend continues to this day, as more recently, a fan of Bungie’s current sci-fi shooter created aDestinyrap video about its Exotic Weapons.

As far asOverwatchitself goes, though, Blizzard’s multiplayer shooter is set to become one of this year’s most favored releases. Interestingly enough, theplayer stats for the game’s first weekafter the official launch show that it had upwards of seven million people taking part in the title’s gameplay. Not to mention, taking into consideration the fact that developers have introducedranked play on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, the game’s popularity is sure to become even more intense.
