As seen in the latestJudastrailer, the new game features a similar art style as theclassicBioShocktitles, but with significant advancements thanks to the horsepower behind the new consoles. The trailer seems to set up the “Big Three” - a man in a cowboy hat, a woman in a black and gold suit, and a pink-haired girl - as the primary antagonists, but that’s just speculation at this time. As far as gameplay goes, the trailer shows protagonist Judas acquiring a shotgun and engaging in first-person shooter combat that looks highly reminiscent ofBioShock.

Judas Story Trailer

It’s clearer now than ever before thatJudasis taking its cues fromBioShock, with the main difference being the setting.Judastakes place in space aboard a city/ship called the Mayflower. The Mayflower seems to have found itself in a similar situation as Rapture, as the citizens are “trained to tear each other apart for even the most minor infractions,” meaning players should have no shortage of enemies to face as they explore the game world. It’s also been said that “machines control every aspect of business, art, and government” inJudas, and it will definitely be interesting to see how those themes play out over the course of the story.

Unfortunately,Judasis still without a release dateafter the latest trailer. But while an officialJudasrelease date is not available at the time of this writing, it’s been previously suggested that the game is aiming for release this next fiscal year, meaning itshouldbe out by March 2025. Whether or not that actually comes to pass remains to be seen, but regardless,BioShockfans should definitely keep this one on their radar.
