The amazing screenshots were posted on the Twitter account of publisher FDG Entertainment, and the comparisons toThe Legend of Zeldaare certainly apt. It’s the perfect time forOceanhorn 2to capitalize onThe Legend of Zeldahype. Therecent release ofTears of the Kingdommeans that gamers are looking for similar products, and there’s absolutely no chance thatThe Legend of Zeldatitles ever make their way to anything other than Nintendo platforms. Treating the game as “Zelda, but for other consoles” is a strong approach, and it will be interesting to see if gamers embrace it when it releases.
The upcoming release ofOceanhorn 2will be a massive step forward for the game. It began life as an Apple Arcade exclusive before its Switch release. While it didn’t receive the acclaim of something likeThe Legend of Zelda, it earned its place with a fun story and some unique features. As anopen-world game with unique exploration mechanics, it will be good to see if the developer takes the opportunity to expand upon the experience with its newest release. The studio has more hardware power available now, and it would be great to see it utilize that in interesting ways.
