With gamers hoping that the much-anticipated Kombat Pack 2 forMortal Kombat 11will be announced soon, leaks and rumors abound as to what new fighters the next year could bring for the popular fighting game. While returning fan favorites are pretty much a given,Mortal Kombat 11and its predecessors are no strangers to inviting surprising guests to its roster, with characters like Kratos fromGod of War, Freddy Krueger, Jason Vorhees, and even the Xenomorph fromAlienmaking appearances inMortal Kombat 9andMortal Kombat X.

The past year’s Kombat Pack 1 featured 3 guest fighters:The Terminator, The Joker, and Spawn, and if that’s any indication, the coming year’sMortal Kombat 11content will be loaded with surprises. Here’s just five of the characters that’d be exciting to see join the fight in Kombat Pack 2.

Ash Williams

Perhaps the most obvious entry on this list, leaks, ads and game data suggest thatAsh Williams was originally intended to be in Kombat Pack 1. It’s unclear why TheEvil Deadprotagonist didn’t make it into the Kombat Pack, but new potential leaks show that his absence fromMortal Kombat 11may have only been temporary. Evidence aside, gamers would love to see Ash shredding through opponents with his chainsaw-arm or blasting them away with his trusty boomstick. Not to mention the possibility of funny dialogue from the always-witty character.

Michael Myers

If past guest fighters are any indication, the slasher-horror genre andMortal Kombatgo together like chocolate and peanut butter. Players have already seen what Freddy, Jason, and Leatherface can do to their foes in the ring, butMichael Myersis perhaps the most prolific movie serial killer to not make an appearance in the series yet, although that may change soon.

Appearing in thesame alleged leak that teased Ash Williams, the knife-wieldingHalloweenvillain would be right at home inMK11’s arena. Fans have already seen what he can do with his kitchen knife and near-superhuman strength on the silver screen, but it remains to be seen how he would deal with opponents who are a touch more intimidating than Laurie Strode. Of course, the leak could always be a hoax, so fans should take it with a grain of salt.

DoomSlayer

The ultra-violent, nigh-unstoppable space marine from theDoomfranchise has long been a heavily requested guest fighter in various fighting games, withMortal Kombat 11being no exception. It’s no wonder why considering the faceless warrior’s huge array of devastating weapons and penchant for brutality. Doomguy has a chainsaw and a loadout of futuristic guns that would be sure to make mincemeat out of hapless kombatants, not to mention the BFG, which might as well have “fatality” written on it in permanent marker. The Doom Slayer’s abilities, hatred of all things demonic, and his creativity when it comes to pulverizing his enemies in the goriest ways possible would make him fit right in in theMortal Kombatuniverse.

Deadpool

WhileMortal Kombat 11’s partnership with Warner Bros makes the appearance of a Marvel character unlikely, Ed Boon’s hinting at the possibility of aNetherrealm-developed Marvel gameoffers a glimmer of hope. Plus, it’s hard to argue that Deadpool wouldn’t make a great addition to theMKroster. The Merc with a Mouth’s skill, sadistic whimsy, and - most importantly - irreverent sense of humor go hand-in-hand with the tone of theMortal Kombatseries. Even moreso, his love for breaking the fourth wall would be interesting. Seeing Deadpool leap into action with dual katanas and pistols to dice up the rest of the roster would be a treat for fans everywhere. And the opportunity to pit Deadpool against The Joker? That would just be the cherry on top.

Anyone from The Boys

The Boys, Amazon’s smash hit superhero series based on the comic series by Garth Ennis, is chock full of characters that would be perfect forMortal Kombat 11. It’s well established that each of the show’s superheroes - and the members of the crack squad who keep them in check - have no qualms about getting absolutely brutal when necessary,as seen throughoutThe Boys’first season.A series that doesn’t shy away from gore would pair fantastically withMortal Kombat’s signature level of violence. Imagine being able to heat vision an opponent in two as The Homelander, bludgeon someone’s face to a pulp as Billy Butcher, or just straight-up rip a guy’s face off as The Female. The possibilities are endless, and it’s impossible to pick just one character fromThe Boyswho should guest star inMortal Kombat 11.

Mortal Kombat 11is available on PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
