The grind to the Damascus skin inCall of Duty: Modern Warfareis long and challenging. Fans turn to Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, and more all in search of tips to improve their journey. Any shortcut could shave hours off of a player’s grind, which is why oneModern Warfarefan on Reddit has shared some tips and tricks.
These tips are meant to aid players, but they are not a full solution to the grinding problem. Players can expect to get past some of the more difficult challenges, but there is still a long journey ahead tomake it to Damascus.

The biggest thing that Reddit user SubZeroZeusYT recommends is making sure that players work on launchers first. Although the challenges are not difficult, many of them rely on killstreaks meaning that players will need to play multiple games before being able to complete them. While players work on launchers, they should focus on working through their primary weapon. Recommended specialist abilities are Cold-Blooded, Ghost or Hardline, and Amped or Battle-Hardened. These should be taken alongsideQuick Fix, EOD, and Scavenger. The goal is to focus on kills rather than kill streaks. Players are also recommended to avoid the Ram 7, Galil, Grau, Stiker, Fennec, VLK, Buren, Holger, Crossbow, SKS, Renetti, and Kali Sticks.
Keep in mind that personal radars count for every challenge except kills when it comes to the Launchers. As for crouch and hipfire kills, players are advised to take advantage of sliding. By simply sliding around the map and hip firing in hardcore players can rush past these challenges.Close quarter mapsare particularly good for grinding out these challenges.
Mounted and long shot kills can be handled in hardcore mode as well. Most guns are one-shot kills in hardcore making the SMG, Assault Rifle, and LMG grind a tad bit easier. After that, it is just a matter of knowing the right maps and taking advantage of the distances there. Tip wise, the Reddit user provided a list of theirfavoriteModern Warfaremapsfor both longshot and mounted kills.
For the kills after reloading, challenges players are advised to bring in extra mags and use sleight of hand. The idea is just to kill, reload, kill, reload, and if a player has sleight of hand, this speeds up the reload time. For pistols, players should use akimbo as shooting with one while reloading the other does count for this challenge.
For no attachment kills and three kills without dying, theModern Warfarefan advises going into hardcore mode. The fact that it is a one-shot kill for most guns alone makes it much easier to grind out the kills and score up kill streams. Thisadvice also goes for shields, but SubZeroZeusYT recommends core for knife challenges. Don’t stress too much and just have a good time, and most of the challenges will solve themselves. Try and get 2-4 of the three kills without dying challenge per match, and it will be finished in no time.
