Starting pitchers have an advantage inMLB The Show 22that no other position has. To get to the main stage, the player doesn’t have to be the best pitcher in the organization. They don’t have to be second best either. Ballclubs use five pitchers in rotation, so being fifth-best on the club still means quality and plentiful starts.

But teams that don’t have their starting lineups figured out are usually not going to contend for a title. It’s a careful balancing act; how quickly do players want to get to the big leagues versus how much do players want to contend for a World Series title. These are the best landing spots inMLB The Show 22for gamers to consider.
Pittsburgh Pirates
Get this: Not only is a 66 OVR the lowest OVR of any starting pitcher, it’s also the lowest OVR for any starter at any position in the game. That’s right, it literally does not get any easier than being a starting pitcher for the Pirates. Those who want to get to the MLB as fast as possible shouldchange positionsand come pitch here.
The downside? Well, the Pirates are in rough shape and currently sit at the second-worst rating in the game. There isn’t going to be much run support. But it’s a great place for players to pitch and PNC Park is absolutely gorgeous.

Oakland Athletics
According to the game’s ratings, no team will be worse this year than the Athletics. There’s really no upside to playing here instead of with the Pirates due to needing one more OVR point just to be on a worse team. Or is there?

Gamers love a good challenge. For gamers who are playing Road to the Show andget the call up as quickly as possible, players have the opportunity to be the only shining star in Oakland. The bragging rights are unbelievable; if a player can carry this team to the World Series, they truly are one of the all-time best.
Baltimore Orioles
There are few organizations with the prestige of the Baltimore Orioles that find themselves in this kind of trouble. For several years now, the team has seemed to miss on their big signings and let the most talented free agents slip through their fingers.
Pitchers here can turn things around for the organization and get called to the starting roster without needing toequip gearto improve their OVR. Baltimore is beautiful, the home of legends, and the fans are die-hard. They deserve somebody to cheer for.

Texas Rangers
The first three teams on this list are real fixer-uppers. That happens with rosters that have a glaring hole in the rotation. But the Texas Rangers are shockingly ready to go. Players will get all of the backup they need as the rest of the position players are 74 or better.

Their biggest weakness is this fifth starter, which drags the team down. By stepping in after eclipsing a mere 70 OVR, players will be shocked at how the team immediately improves. The Rangers aren’t ranked highly and the bench is atrocious, but all it takes is nine players to win a ball game and the Rangers have just that.
Seattle Mariners
The Seattle Mariners, like the Rangers, are one starter away from contending for a title despite their ranking. Their lowest rated position player is 75, not at all shabby. With that kind of support, starting pitchers can confidently know the team has their back.
There aren’t any superstars on the team, but it’s a team effort. Given the player pitching their heart out, the Mariners are poised to finally bring Seattle the championship it deserves. The fans are loud and intense when they’ve got a reason to show up. Give them a reason to pay the ticket price.

MLB The Show 22was released on April 5th, 2022, and is available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PlayStation 5.
