Metroidwas first released way back in 1986, and as one of the earliest in video game history where a female hero was playable. That’s right, Samus Aran isthatfemale, the badass bounty hunter. Samus has a plethora of games, but she stars in a lot of side games, such asSuper Smash Bros.and even cameo appearances such asSuper Mario RPG.
When she’s not battling Space Pirates orMetroids, she’s searching for her next adventure/bounty. Now, if Samus had to hunt down other video game villains from different worlds, who would she be able to claim that bounty on, or who would leave her for dead? Find out in our list!
10CAN BEAT: Diablo, The Dark Lord (Diablo)
Diablo, otherwise known as The Dark Lord, is the final boss from theDiablogames. Now, if Samus had to claim this bounty, it might be hit or miss depending on the rarity of her equipment. As in the world ofDiablo, the rarity of equipment is the difference between life and death.
Yet, even saying that Samus is a technological powerhouse, her powered-exoskeleton, and arsenal is no doubt a tier that Diablo has ever seen before. Diablo, The Dark Lord truly doesn’t stand a chance against Samus barrage of missiles.
9CAN’T BEAT: Ultimecia (Final Fantasy 8)
Ultimecia is an extremely powerful sorceress fromFinal Fantasy 8.She knows most of the world’s most powerful magic, as well as being able to manipulate people to her will. Her most frightening power, however, is being about to give life to subconscious thoughts and control time.
Samus might have an incredible arsenal, but if Ultimecia can control someone else through eons of time and create a barrier that absorbs a sniper bullet, then truly the rest of Samus' arsenal might not be up for the task of snagging this bounty.
8CAN BEAT: Kerrigan (Starcraft)
Sarah Kerrigan once was human, an expert at assassinations and espionage, and second in command of Sons of Korhal. However, she got captured by insectoids known as the Zerg. And due to this, she got infested and got turned into a human/zerg hybrid known as the Queen of Blades.

Usually, a whole army of insects would cause alarm to a lot of people. However, Samus is undoubtedly used to having to fight off worlds of aliens, and god knows what else. If a bounty is a bounty, it won’t stop Samus Aran.
7CAN’T BEAT: Lavos (Chrono Trigger)
Lavos is an alien parasite that drains entire planets of its energy, to create enhanced spawn that will continue the cycle on other planets. This parasite is a creature of tremendous power that is easily capable of destroying entire eras in an instant. Not only that, but Lavos has three forms that all must be defeated to kill the parasite that lies within.
Even though Samus is well experienced in killing alien creatures, trying to take down Lavos will be way too much for her to handle. From the sheer size and the ferocity of Lavos’s attacks, not even her exoskeleton would survive the impact.
6CAN BEAT: Alduin (Skyrim)
Alduin or otherwise known in the dragon tongue, the World Eater is a vast, mighty dragon that once ruled over all ofSkyrim. This dragon was even worshipped as a god-king by some Nords. And is known to be the harbinger of the apocalypse.

Samus is one bounty hunter that is not afraid of weird creatures or dragons. As Ridley, a high-ranking Space Pirate, resembles a skeletal dragon with glowing eyes, even though Ridley is not actually a dragon. Samus has experience fighting winged beasts trying to kill her, and a mere dragon is just a bigger Ridley to take down.
5CAN’T BEAT: M. Bison (Street Fighter)
M. Bison is the main villain of theStreet Fighterseries, and he runs a criminal organization called Shadaloo. He uses an extraordinary unique power called Soul Power, which uses one’s own soul as a weapon a tool. By using this ability, he cast out the good in his soul and created his own power, known as Psycho Power.
Samus’s suit sadly will not help her against mind control or brainwashing techniques. Even if Samus somehow managed to shrug these effects off, she is a mid/long-range distance fighter. If M. Bison gets up close, her armor will not save her.
4CAN BEAT: Handsome Jack (Borderlands)
Handsome Jack is a hilarious guy, but that wouldn’t stop a bounty hunter coming after him. Hey, it didn’t stop vault hunters trying to kill him, and they got a pony named after them! Jack’s power comes from the corporation that he owns Hyperion and claiming himself director over Pandora, as well as claiming credit for everything he didn’t do.
But villainously cool as he is, Samus would have no problem dealing with someone like Jack. Yes, he might hand behind his corporations and robots, but if a single vault hunter can take him down. Then with Samus’s arsenal, it should be a walk in the park.
3CAN’T BEAT: Ardyn Izunia (Final Fantasy 15)
Ardyn Izunia is a man cursed with life eternal. He was one of the kings to go before the Crystal’s Light but was deemed unworthy for being impure. The Accursed’s mind then twisted hellbent on revenge, brought down darkness to the world. As he was a King of Lucis, he has the power to bring weapons from another plane of existence to appear whenever he wants to.
Samus, though incredibly skilled, cannot kill an immortal - especially an immortal who will still be alive even when/if their body is destroyed because his soul is trapped in the beyond. Only one person can end the suffering of Ardyn, and that person isnotSamus Aran.
2CAN BEAT: Dr. Robotnik (Sonic the Hedgehog)
Once upon a time, Dr. Robotnik was a royal advisor to King Acord, the rule of the Kingdom of Acorn. But he manipulated the King by faking news of an invasion against the kingdom, thus allowing Dr. Robotnik to create an army of robots for the intending attack… which he used instead to conquer Mobotrolopis and establish his Eggman Empire.
Samus is no doubt used to this type of situation, being a galactic bounty hunter and all. Also, she is well experienced in taking down monsters and robots. So fighting off an entire army of robots, with her equipment, is really just child’s play.
1CAN’T BEAT: Ares (God of War)
Ares was the son of Zeus and Hera and was also the originalGod of War. In the firstGod of War, he is the main antagonist, and his actions caused the events that made Kratos become the unstoppable god killer that he became. Ares is sadistic, extremely violent in nature, and was greedy for power, so he sought to covet all of Olympus.
Samus sadly is no match for a god, let alone a god as powerful as Ares, no matter what technology she would bring to the fight. EvenKratoshad to have assistance from other gods to take him down, as, at this time, he was still a mortal being. Samus wouldn’t be one to back down, but none of her weapons would be effective. She gets points for trying, though.
