Season 4 Reloaded is right around the corner for fans ofCall of Duty: VanguardandCall of Duty: Warzone. Set to bring a bevy of new content and changes across the multiplayer and battle royale experiences, Activision is hyping up the return of Zombies toCall of Duty: Warzone. However, this time around, it will come with a couple of new quality of life and gameplay changes when the limited-time mode launches later this week.

Fans ofWarzoneknow this isn’t the first time Zombies have invaded the battle royale. Originally introduced inthe Haunting of Verdansk Halloween event, Zombies Royale put players into a Zombie themed take of the Resurgence mode. When a player dies, instead of going to the Gulag, they respawn as a zombie with enhanced abilities such as increased speed, improved jumps, deadlier melee attacks, and thermal vision. If a zombie kills a player and collects two syringes dropped by fallen players, they convert back to a human with their loadout.

When the event makes its return, it will take overRebirth Islandand be renamed to Rebirth of the Dead with up to 40 players dropping in solo or in the Quads mode. The previous requirement of two syringes to convert back to an Operator has been bumped up to four, however, the syringes can now be found in Supply Boxes, Medical Supplies, and Buy Stations with Zombies now granted the ability to open Supply Boxes. Zombies will still get two syringes if they kill a human, but performing a finisher on a downed player automatically grants them four syringes.

New to the experience is the Infestation mechanic and, as the name implies, a horde of zombies will randomly spawn in to attack players during the match similar tothe classic Zombies experience. Rebirth of the Dead will have a HUD feature that indicates when this event takes place as an Infestation meter fills when zombies are killed. At the start of every Infestation event, every zombie controlled player who has been killed will respawn in.

Aside from the quality of life and gameplay changes, Activision confirms that thejump scares from the previous Zombies eventshave been removed to make sure the easily frightened don’t have a bad time. Winning a Rebirth of the Dead match will grant players with an animated “Last Alive” Calling Card.

Rebirth of the Dead takes over Rebirth Island on July 27 and will be a limited-time mode. The end date hasn’t been shared yet so make sure to hop in as soon as possible and conquer the zombie hordes.
