A short new trailer forLike a Dragon: Ishinshows a more slow-paced part of main character Ryoma’s life, focusing on the farming mini-game in the spinoff. TheLike a Dragonspinoff was first announcedlate last year as a remake of the 2014 spinoff of the same name, shifting the setting from modern to feudal Japan. The samurai spinoff of the popular action-adventure games focuses on an ancestor of Kazuma Kiryu, following the adventures of Ryoma Sakamoto. Now, a new trailer has shown off one of the spinoff’s mini-games.
WithLike a Dragon: Ishinset to launch near the end of next month, Sega and Ryu ga Gotoku Studio have already shown off plenty of what to expect from the remake.Ishinfeatures the return of thefranchise’s iconic style-based combat system, allowing players to switch between different stances to change their attacks. Much like its modern counterparts,Ishinwill include a variety of mini-games for players to dive into with popular games like karaoke and chicken racing confirmed. Now, Sega is showing off Ryoma Sakamoto’s farming skills in a new trailer.

A short trailer forLike a Dragon: Ishintitled “Another Life Overview” introduces players to theLike a Dragonspinoff’s farming mechanics. Players will be able to grow a variety of crops on their small farm with a cooking mini-game attached, tasking players with chopping leeks and grilling fish. Thefarming and cooking mini-gameswill also act as an opportunity for players to earn money, creating dishes based on orders to sell to customers.Ishineven gives players the option to adopt a cat or dog for Ryoma to care for as part of its home life.
WhileIshinis set to feature a variety of mini-games for players to try out, the remake will retain several elements of the original game, as well as other entries in the franchise. The original version’s card-based skill system will return withtheLike a Dragon: Ishinremake, as well as past characters in the series cameoing in new roles. Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto also confirmed some of the franchise’s most popular songs will feature as part of the game’s updated soundtrack, including fan-favorite “Bakamitai.”
WithLike a Dragon: Ishindelving into the history of the franchise’s story, the future ofLike a Dragonis well underway from Sega and Ryu ga Gotoku Studio. Alongside the reveal of theIshinremake,Sega officially announcedLike a Dragon 8with a release window set sometime in 2024. TheLike a Dragonstudio would later reveal a remake ofLike a Dragon: Kenzancould be considered ifIshinproves successful. 2023 and 2024 look to be busy years for theLike a Dragonfranchise with multiple new games coming.
Like a Dragon: Ishinwill release on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on February 23rd, 2023.
