It has been a long time sinceCall of Dutyhas featured a campaign and theme centered around World War 2, but a decline in sales has lead the franchise to this point. Developer Sledgehammer Games has been given the task of righting theCall of Dutyship byfocusing on boots on the ground, both in campaign and multiplayer.
For those that are curious about theCall of Duty: WW2campaign and how substantial it might be, Game Rant has all of the details. It depends on the difficulty, but the average player should expect to spend about 5-7 hours in the single player campaign, assuming they watch all cutscenes.

Playing on a higher difficulty is likely to add some time to a campaign playthrough, depending on the player’s skill level. For some, the highest difficulty will still be a breeze, even withno regenerating health, while others will need to be patient and thus the game can take longer to complete.
A 7-hour campaign is par for the course as far as Call of Duty campaigns are concerned and in line with past completion times. Last year’sInfinite Warfarewas a bit of an outlier since there were a lot of optional missions to complete during the campaign or after it was finished, but most Callof Dutytitles deliver about 6 hours of single player entertainment.
Of course, single player is only one piece of theCall of Dutypuzzle andWW2is no different. Sledgehammer Games had the unique opportunity to takeCall of Dutymultiplayer back to an era of boots on the ground and fans seem to be receptive to the familiar look and feel. That is if they can get into a multiplayer match with the servers acting up the last few days. For some players, themultiplayer connection problemshave been non-existent, but for others, they have put a huge damper on what could be a promising start.
Alongside multiplayer and a campaign,Call of Duty: WW2brings back the fan-favorite Zombies mode, albeit with some twists from Sledgehammer Games. Members of the development team have been teasing players with talk of an experience that echoes Dead Space, but this is still Zombies at its core.
So while it may only take a few hours to get through theCall of Duty: WW2campaign, there are dozens more hours of content waiting for players. After all, for many players, the campaign is the least popular aspect of the series.
Call of Duty: WW2is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
