With the announcement of Stadia, Google looks to bring streaming games to players with itspowerful new console. However, the platform itself is not the company’s only interest in gaming, as it has been revealed that Stadia will receive its own first-party exclusive titles as well.
As indicated in its 2019 Game Developer’s Conference keynote, Google has established its own studio with the goal of creatingGoogle Stadia-exclusive games. Few details on this studio, which is called Stadia Games and Entertainment, are currently known, but the announcement does indicate that streamable gaming may not be the only draw for the platform.

What is known is that Stadia Games and Entertainment is being led by Jade Raymond, an industry veteran that acted as executive producer on titles likeAssassin’s Creed 2,Splinter Cell: Blacklist, andWatch Dogs. Last week, it was revealed that Raymond would bejoining Googleas a vice president, and today’s announcement solidifies more details on her role at the company.
Of course, what most players will be interested in is the nature of the exclusive properties planned for Stadia. Indeed, exclusive games are often critical in fueling the success of a new platform, and the foundation of Stadia Games and Entertainment indicates that Google is acutely aware of this fact. Unfortunately for curious players, it seems that they will need to wait before receiving any specifics on Stadia-exclusive titles.
That said, there were a number of games confirmed for Google Stadia during the keynote that players can look forward to seeing supported on Stadia. These titles range fromAssassin’s CreedtoNBA 2Kand the forthcomingDoomEternalis also amongst them. This shooter, which will beplayable in 4K at 60 FPS, is being developed by id Software, and Google’s recently revealed partnership with the studio means that more games from the developer are likely to come to Stadia.
While Google’s GDC presentation certainly offered a lot to consider with respect to the future of gaming, many details on how Stadia will function, and what the company has planned for it, remain unknown. Without question, a great deal more information will be forthcoming ahead of the platform’s launch, including what exclusive titles fans can expect from the newly announced studio.
