With an interesting Cryo sprint, some ofthe best Cryo applicationsin the game, and great crowd attacks, Ayaka has brought a completely new style of combat. Naturally, many aren’t sure the best way to build Ayaka, given the novelty of her attacks. Of course, though there are many ways to buildGenshin ImpactAyaka, some build leave more of an impression than others.
Updated Jul 31, 2025, by Nahda Nabiilah: Although a lot has changed in the game, the same can’t be said about Ayaka best build in Genshin Impact. Even with the release of Dendro, her best sets remain pretty much the same (mostly because Dendro doesn’t react with Cryo). The best set for Ayaka is still Blizzard Strayer, and the best team remains the permafreeze team. However, Ayaka does have some better weapons she can use, and with a better understanding of how the Cryo Princess plays, this article is now updated to better reflect the more recent meta.

Character Overview
Ayaka has quite an interesting mechanic. She can infuse her own Sword with Cryo by simply using her alternate sprint. The ability also allows her to move faster than normal sprints. If players stop dashing near an enemy, the enemy will be affected by Cryo and Ayaka gains an 18% Cryo DMG bonus. This means her alternate sprint is a crucial point in her gameplay; not only for Cryo Infusion and DMG bonus, but players can even use this dash to enable Cryo, slowly destroying Elemental shields like Abyss Herald’s Hydro shield.

The Cryo Princess can even buff her own damage; if she uses her Elemental Skill before attacking, she will gain a 30% DMG bonus on her Normal and Charged Attack for 6s. Since her cooldown is merely 10s, players can continuously refresh this bonus.
Stat-wise, Ayaka makes for a very easy-to-build Cryo DPS character. With easy-to-access Cryo Infusion (via her sprint), her attacks can be improved withCryo damage percentage boostsrather than base attack boosts. This makes for more efficiency when building her offensive stats.

Likewise, players are recommended to avoid using artifacts with HP and defense; both Cryo damage and Crit DMG/Rate artifacts serve to build her damage output. Talent-wise, all of her stats should be built equally, but with more focus on her Elemental Burst and Normal Attack than her Elemental Skill.
Sub-DPS Build
While the DPS build makes for the best results for Ayaka, a sub-DPS build is also possible. Should players already have agood DPS in another element, like Hu Tao with his easy-to-use talents, then a change in strategy may make a load of difference.

When building for the support class, players are going to want to focus a little less on attack and more on Energy Recharge. There isn’t a stat to increase the efficiency of Ayaka’s sprint infusion, however, her Elemental bBrst can be used more often by this means. Likewise, when upgrading talents, both Ayaka’s Burst and Skill should take priority over her Normal Sttack.
Ayaka Best Build - Best Artifacts
Surprisingly, building Ayaka’s artifacts doesn’t particularly change between the DPS and the support build. Ayaka has a priority on building her Cryo either way, so the best set for both builds is theBlizzard Strayerset. These can be found in the Peak of Vindagnyr domain, which focuses on using Cryo opponents.
However, should players find it difficult to find good Blizzard Strayer artifacts, the next best artifacts are theGladiator’s Finale setfor the DPS build. The support build can utilize almost any artifact set without inflicting results, however, either theGladiator’s Finale or Noblesse Oblige setsmake for good options.

Ayaka Best Build - Best Weapons
Unsurprisingly, Ayaka’s corresponding weapon banner hosts herbest weapon for all builds. TheMistsplitter Reforgedfocuses on increasing Critical DMG with its sub-stat and Elemental damage with its passive. It goes without saying how this benefits a Cryo DPS and enabler like Ayaka, increasing her damage in the same way as her artifacts.

Meanwhile, F2P players can opt for weapons likeAmenoma KageuchiandBlackcliff Longsword. The 3-star weapon,Harbinger of Dawn, is also a brilliant option if players can maintain its passive condition.
Team Compositions
For Ayaka team inGenshin Impact, players are going to want an enabler of some kind and a healer. As for the final missing spot, there exist a few different options depending on player preference: another Cryo character for resonance-sake, a secondary DPS, an extra support, etc. For example, Xingqiu makes for an interesting option, his Rain Blades making for easy frozen reactions.
The most optimal team for Ayaka is easily the Morgana comp. For this team, players will need a Hydro enabler and an Anemo support. Here are some examples of this setup:
