The poster that HBO Max shared showcases a dragon egg, with a dragon peeking from behind it. InGame of Thrones,Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryenis given three dragon eggs as a gift on her wedding day. While they seem useless at first, Daenerys manages to miraculously hatch them, revealing three dragons that went on to become an integral part of the final battle in the series. But, it was made clear that her ancestors had also used dragons in the past to conquer the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros.
With theHouse of the Dragonrevealing the storyof Daenerys' ancestors, it isn’t surprising to see a dragon egg make an appearance on the latest poster. It could very well end up being one of the dragons that Aegon Targaryen, the son of King Viserys Targaryen and Alicent Hightower, used to unite the realm. However, fans are disappointed that the integral character from Martin’s novel has not been cast in the upcoming series yet. Only time will tell whether he makes an appearance. For now, fans can rest assured that a lot of dragons will be a part ofHouse of the Dragon.
While Aegon might not be in the character roster, many of the Targaryen clan membersfrom Martin’s book will be a part of the series.
