The Bozjan Southern Front is an instanced zone with an independent leveling system, similar toThe Forbidden Land, Eureka. Unlocking the zone requires players to complete both the level 80 Main Scenario Quest “Shadowbringers” as well as the Return to Ivalice alliance raid series, beginning with the quest “Dramatis Personae” in Kugane (X:12, Y:12). Once both requirements are met, the quest “Hail to the Queen” will become available in Kugane (X:12, Y:12).

How To Obtain Southern Front Lockboxes

Southern Front Lockboxes are provided as a reward for participating in Critical Engagements, random events that occur throughout the Bozjan Southern Front,similar to FATEs. The drop rate for Southern Front Lockboxes increases with a player’s level of contribution to the Critical Engagement, so aiming for gold medal completion is recommended. Additionally, specific Critical Engagements may randomly reward players with a Field Note, a consumable item that provides a Field Record with information on key characters in Bozja. These Field Notes are tracked as part of the “A Complete History” achievement, however, Field Notes can also be exchanged for Southern Front Lockboxes by speaking to the Resistance Historian in the Bozjan Southern Front (X:15, Y:29).

While the above method is reliable, the random nature of Southern Front Lockboxes may prove frustrating or too time-consuming for some players. Those looking to skip the grind altogether are able to insteaduse their hard-earned gilto purchase the Gabriel Identification Key from other players via the market board. Additionally, the Gabriel Alpha mount makes its debut in the Moogle Treasure Trove event series with the Second Hunt for Genesis. Moogle Treasure Trove events reward players who complete special challenges and marked dungeons, trials, and raids with Moogle Tomestones, an event currency used to purchase items and collectibles normally obtained from elsewhere in the game.
