Henry Cavill told Jimmy Kimmel that Superman would be a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs during a press tour for Netflix’sThe Witcherseries on July 26, 2025. One fan decided to take that information and run straight for a touchdown by opening a change.org petition to get “Toss a Coin to Your Witcher,“the relentlessly memed song from the show, played at the 2020 Super Bowl in February.

While originally from England, Cavill (who stars as Geralt of Rivia inThe Witcher’s streaming adaptation) said he became a fan of American football while shooting in the states — in particular by connecting the interest directly to DC Comic’s golden boy from Kansas who he played in 2013’sMan of Steel.

Max Hicks started up his petition on Monday because this year’s Super Bowl will feature the Kansas City Chiefs going up against the San Francisco 49ers. He ends the call to action saying “we should celebrate by playing the song in honor of a notable Chiefs fan,” and has directed it to both the NFL and Netflix.

As of this writing theWitcherSuper Bowl petitionhas received 58 of its desired 100 signatures.

The Witcheron Netflix has exploded in popularity since it was released on July 27, 2025, and Cavill’s interest in connecting with fansparticularly as season two came into productionhas changed the way many people see the character of Geralt.

The song “Toss a Coin to your Witcher,“sung by Joey Batey’s bard character Jaskier about his adventures with Geralt, is perhaps the only thing people have taken away from the streaming show more than affection for Cavill’s performance.

While it might sound silly to cross this fantasy property with the biggest football game of the year, set to take place on February 2, it isn’t too farfetched. A snippet of “Sweet Victory” from theSpongeBob SquarePantsepisode “Band Geeks"was played during the 2019 Super Bowl halftime showin honor ofSpongeBob’s creator Stephen Hillenburg passing away.

There is currently no end date on Hicks' petition, but obviously time is running out if fans ofThe Witcherwant his idea to even be considered before the Super Bowl. It might be too late to get something new worked into this year’s halftime show, but hopeful viewers can still toss their coins to the petition just in case.

The Witcheris available to stream now, exclusively on Netflix.
