In the cozy world ofFae Farm, Azoria can sometimes be a challenging place to navigate. It doesn’t seem that way at first - there are plenty of helpful paths to guide players, and the live location of NPCs can even be tracked via the map. Still, trying to get somewhere specific while dealing with the winding rivers and aggravating cliff faces makes it clear that most of the game world was designed with a double jump in mind.
Adding to the annoyance are several obstacles; thorns and dark mist can be skirted around, but still make it a hassle to navigate in the early game. Even the sea isn’t safe, withseveral whirlpools stopping any players that attempt to swim away. Magic spells unlocked during the story will deal with most of these obstacles, but players should still strive to get wings as soon as they can to get around their environment with ease.
How to Unlock Wings in Fae Farm
Wings are unlocked around halfway through Fae Farm’s story, during chapter 4. After the first quest in this chapter, players will have met the Wisp Mother, who gives them the ‘Raising Expectations’ quest. To complete it, players will need to show the Wisp Mother threeflutter dust. This special item can only be obtained by crafting a ‘lowlands critter conservatory’ with the resources below.
Plant fibers and silt are easily found byharvesting plants and digging up dirt piles, but players will need alumber stationandstone forgeto get the beech lumber and stone bricks. A stone forge is alsouseful for creating ingots, so making one or more should definitely be a priority.
After the conservatory has been placed, players need to catch at least three butterflies with a net and place them inside. When the butterflies leave, flutter dust can be collected - taking it to the Wisp Mother will reward the player with their wings. They can be unequipped by visiting the ‘edit outfit’ screen via the inventory, but removing wings will also disable the ability to double jump.
The Wisp Mother also sells a variety of wings that provide different looks, but they each require 10 of a specific flower to purchase. Flowers are difficult to grow and even more difficult to combine into new colors; the bonus wings don’t offer any gameplay bonuses, so this store is one that players should return to when they have the resources of the end game.
