Every Exoprimal Game Mode Revealed So Far
WithExoprimal’s gameplay showcase being just a few minutes long, Capcom naturally didn’t have a lot of time to show off the game in any real detail. However, based on the information revealed in the trailer, and some tidbits given to some outlets, fans have gotten a pretty good idea of whatExoprimal’s six game modes might look like upon the game’s 2023 release date.
The main game mode ofExoprimal, at least according to Capcom, is called Dinosaur Survival, which acts as the game’s story mode, with each completed mission pushing the narrative forward in some way. While also being the main narrative mode,Dinosaur Survival is a PvPvE game mode, setting two teams of five against each other in a race to complete their objectives faster than their opponents. These objectives will be given to the teams via their Leviathan, and will likely revolve around escorting something, killing something, or hunting something down - all the standard team-based video game objectives.
Aside fromExoprimal’s main Dinosaur Survival mode, the game will also contain at least five other game modes on launch, with the potential of more being added or revealed before its official release. Dinosaur Cull is one of these additional game modes, and sees squads hunting down one specific dinosaur. Apparently, players will need to lure out their prey first, which can be done by killing groups of smaller dinos. This mode sounds like it should definitely appeal toMonster Hunterfans, as the general loop seems pretty similar.
VTOL defense is the next mode confirmed by Capcom. This mode sees playersprotecting their ship from multiple waves of dinosas it receives necessary repairs. Data Key Security is a classic capture the flag-type mode, in which players will take a data key from one side of the map to the other, all while fending off hordes of carnivores.
Omega Charge is one ofExoprimal’s more unique modes, where players go up against gigantic dinosaurs in order to reach their objective. These dinosaurs can only be cleared by charging up a huge hammer weapon. The final game mode confirmed so far is Energy Taker, where players go against one another to try and collect the most energy. Based on these confirmed game modes, it seems likeExoprimalwill have a nice mix of both competitive and cooperative content, which should hopefully keep the experience feeling varied for a while.
Exoprimalreleases in 2023 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
