The base building system inEnshroudedallows for some of the most elaborate creations the genre has seen so far. However, to fully take advantage of this system, players will need to save the Carpenter, an NPC who’s all about making your houses prettier and more functional.
The Carpenter is one ofthe five Craftspeople inEnshrouded, and just like the rest, you’ll need to get him out of a vault. What sets him apart from the rest, though, is that the Carpenter’s vault is a lot trickier to find. If you’re wondering how to wake the Carpenter from his long slumber, here’s a guide showing exactly how to get to him.

Enshrouded: Entering the Carpenter Vault
The vault containing the Carpenter is relatively close to the Cinder Vault. You’ll find it directly to the east of the starting zone, and you can get there by scaling the mountainside and gliding off when there’s nowhere left to stand on. You may still have to hike the rest of the way to the vault, though, so make sure tobring some water fromEnshrouded’smany wellsto keep your stamina up.
Once you reach the map marker, you’ll notice that this vault isn’t like the rest. It’s almost completely covered in Shroud, which will complicate things if you haven’t upgraded your Flame yet. Unfortunately, you’ll have to go through the Shroud to find the Carpenter vault entrance. You don’t need to fight anything on the way to the vault (apart from one enemy in the vault itself), and the trip to the Carpenter shouldn’t take too long. Surviving in the Shroud here shouldn’t be an issue unless you’re wearingEnshrouded’sGuard of the North set, which significantly reduces your Shroud survival timer.

How to Reach The Carpenter
The path leading to the Carpenter’s vault isfairly straightforward. Just follow the tunnel, and you’ll eventually reach a cave-in.Break the rubble with your pickaxeto reach the other side, where a Fell mage is waiting for you. Shoot it down with magic or arrows, then free the Carpenter from his survivor pod. Once it’s open, you’ll be able to spawn himin yourEnshroudedbaseusing the Summoning Staff.
The Carpenter primarily offers crafting services for home improvement items like better fireplaces, fancier furniture, new building blocks, and magical chests that allow all crafting stations to conveniently draw materials from them. He’ll offer even more crafting recipes when you complete his requests.
