Unfortunately, Caelid is full of powerful monsters and bosses that’ll surely cause issues and quickly change players' minds into finding the real next area after Limgrave.
After the final duel betweenStarscourge Radahnand Malenia inElden Ring, Caelid was infected with Scarlet Rot and became inhabited by the undead monsters. Because of the region’s harsh environment, locating and fighting all its bosses may seem like an arduous task for Tarnished.
Updated on June 18, 2025, by Nahda Nabiilah:It’s tempting to head to Caelid after completing exploration in Limgrave since the Region is completely accessible from the starting area. However, the difference in levels between both regions is a lot, so early-game players are better off exploring Liurnia of the Lakes instead. Some, if not most, of Caelid bosses are ruthless and require higher level and more advanced equipment.

TheBlack Blade Kindred (Bestial Sanctum)is found guarding the entrance to the Bestial Sanctum. The fastest way to reach it is by using the Waygate situated near theThird Church of Marikain Limgrave.
Defeating the Black Blade Kindred boss rewards88,000 Runes,Gargoyle’s Blackblade,andGargoyle’s Black Halberd.

East of Caelid:
There are two Night’s Cavalry that can be found in Caelid. The first boss is in theMap (Dragonbarrow)section, north ofLenne’s Rise inElden Ring, and it drops42,000 Runesas well asAsh of War: Bloodhound’s Step.
The second Night’s Cavalry is east of the Caelid Highway South Site of Lost Grace, and it drops8,500 Runesalong withAsh of War: Poison Moth Flight. Keep in mind that both bosses only appear at night.

After overcoming General Radahn,Tarnished will find the War-Dead Catacombsin the north-most section of the Shardbearer’s battlefield. Inside the catacombs is thePutrid Tree Spiritthat drops67,200 Runes, theRedmane Knight Ogha Ashes, and aGolden Seed.
TheBeastman of Farum Azula (Limgrave)can be fought as the main boss inside the Dragonbarrow Cave just south of the Bestial Sanctum in Caelid. Upon beating the Beastman, it grants65,000 RunesandanElden RingTalisman, theFlamedrake Talisman +2.
Like the Beastman of Farum Azula, thePutrid Avatar (Dragonbarrow)can be found south of the Bestial Sanctum in Dragonbarrow. It’s very similar to the Erdtree Avatar, yet very different at the same time, as the Putrid Avatar fights with Scarlet Rot.
Killing it rewards91,000 Runes, theOpaline Hardtear, and theStonebarb Cracked Tear.

General Radahn orStarscourge Radahn is a Shardbearerthat’s infested by Scarlet Rot. Reaching him can be done by either exploring Redmane Castle and going through a boss fight before getting to Radahn, or by unlocking Altus Plateau and activating any Site of Lost Grace in the area.
Defeating Starscourge Radahn rewards Tarnished with70,000 Runes,Remembrance of the Starscourge, andRadahn’s Great Rune.
If playerschose to explore Redmane Castlebefore defeating Radahn, the Crucible Knight and Misbegotten put up a fierce fight while progressing to the Radahn’s Festival.
