During a recent YouTube livestream, Dr Disrespect was asked about his upcoming gameDeadrop. Specifically, a viewer inquired whether the in-development game from Midnight Society would be shown off atThe Game Awards on December 8. Unfortunately, fans of the Doc received bad news about the possibility ofDeadropbeing at the show. In fact, Dr Disrespect was forthright with his audience. “Zero percent chance. This year,” he said. While many probably assumed that the game was not far enough into development to show up at The Game Awards, this was still disappointing for those anxious to see more of the project.

However, it is worth noting that the Doc specifically said thatDeadropwould not be shown at the presentation “this year.” This leaves the door open forMidnight Societyto show the game at subsequent shows, such as the seemingly inevitable The Game Awards 2023. The Doc even mentioned that Geoff Keighley “knows the flip phone,” suggesting that it could be easy to set up an appearance at the show in the future. For now, Dr Disrespect stressed that he did not want to show the game at an event like The Game Awards until it was the appropriate time. “We just have it on mute for now. We’ll turn it on when we’re ready,” he said, once again, referencing the opportunity to appear at subsequent The Game Awards shows.

Even though the Doc and Midnight Society will not be showcasing their game at The Game Awards, this does not mean fans have not seen any details about the anticipated project. In fact, there have been multiplesnapshots ofDeadropthat backers of the project have been able to check out. While Dr Disrespect’s game is likely years away from launching, it seems fans will continue to be able to see how the project develops over the coming months.
