Lord Saladin makes his season 3 debut this week inDestiny 2,bringing with him a completely revamped Iron Banner as well. For the first session, players will be participating in 6v6 control matches, and this time, actual match statistics will affect what stock Saladin has available. Things like matches played, grenade kills, and Iron Banner rank all contribute to what players can purchase directly. Not only that, a remastered version ofthe popularDestiny 1map, Bannerfall, is also making its PvP debut this week.
Naturally, loot and gear make up a large part of the Destiny experience and for this latest season, the Iron Banner hasall new rewards and ornaments to collect. Unlike the Samurai-inspired gear of season 2, the latest Iron Banner gear has a more silver and green medieval sort of look to it this time around, with each class appearing to be a sort of knight. As usual, players can play the RNG game with Iron Banner tokens, or use them to purchase each piece directly from Saladin once certain conditions are met. In season 3, players will have to invest a bit more time than usual in order to have a shot at unlocking the best looking gear.
While not grinding away Iron Banner reputation, the rest ofDestiny 2has also been updated with new content for the next week. Remember, with a higher Power Cap now in place, knocking off these weekly milestones is a surefire way to climb beyond the soft level cap. As always, we’ve listed out everything you need to know during the week of May 22 from the updated Leviathan Raid order, details on the new Nightfall strike, the Flashpoint location, and everything else.
Nightfall Challenges:
Nightfall Reward:Trichromatica Exotic Ghost Shell
This week in the NIghtfall, we’re heading back to vanillaDestiny 2content with The Inverted Spire. Arguably the oldest strike in the game, if only due to the fact that players were able to gohands-on with it during the beta, most Destiny players should know this mission fairly well at this point. TheTrichromatica Exotic Ghost Shell also makes its return as the Nightfall reward.
Players will be facing off against the Vex and Cabal primarily, with both sides at war with one another over a large drill that is quickly tearing the place apart. Naturally, the most unique aspect to this strike is the section that features the large spinning drills, tasking players with not only avoiding instant, spinning death, but also fighting off waves of enemies at the same time. As this is a combat heavy strike, players should equip their best weapons and gear, and take cover when needed.
The Vex Modular Mind, Protheon, is the final boss awaiting players, and unlock other strike bosses, this one has a few tricks up his metal sleeve. While the fight begins normally enough, Protheon will eventually dissolve the floor after a certain portion of his health is gone. When this happens, make sure to jump before hitting the ground to avoid massive damage. This phase also features a new element, essentially turning the floor into a damage field for a short time, so players should keep an eye out for that, jump to a pillar to avoid the fire attacks.
After another portion of his health is gone, the floor again dissolves and the final phase begins. A damaging arc pool now surrounds the space, limiting the areas where players can go. One aggressive strategy for fighting the waves of Vex and Protheon is to equip aRiskrunner submachine gunand stand in the damaging arc pool. This not only hurts but supercharges the weapon for added damage. With just a sliver of health left, Protheon’s head will pop off giving it enhanced speed and a new weak spot on its stomach. Finish it off to end the mission.
Flashpoint Location and Treasure Maps
Flashpoint Location:Io
Just like the Nightfall, the Flashpoint milestone has also returned to a default location after spending the previous week on Mars. It’s good news for non-Warmind owners as Io is the place to be over the next seven days. To complete the milestone, simply participate in any of the Public Events that crop up around Jupiter’s moon and make sure totrigger each heroic modifierin order to finish a little faster. Once the progression meter hits 100%, head to the Tower and speak to Cayde-6 to earn some powerful gear.
A return to Io also means a return to the default five available treasure chests. Before kicking off the hunt, visit Cayde at the Tower and purchase all of his available maps. Upon returning to Io, little icons will populate on the minimap giving players a general location of where to look. Treasure and loot varies wildly, from rare gear and tokens to exotic engrams and emblems.

Leviathan Raid Encounter Order/Weekly Challenge
Along with the new week, comes a brand newLeviathan Raid encounter order. Doing so each week not only helps to keep the experience fresh for veteran players, it also helps players new to the experience get used to the Raid as well as giving them an opportunity to play each part of it. With a new raid on the horizon, expect this section to grow in the coming weeks.

Call to Arms- Win glory by participating, getting kills, and finishing PvP matches from any of theCrucible PvP playlists. Finish the milestone and return to Shaxx to earn his weekly engram.

For players looking for more of a challenge when playing strikes, theHeroic Strikes playlistis the way to go inDestiny 2.Players above the minimum recommended power level of 270 have an opportunity to score better loot at the end of the mission.
