Summary
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaibafollows Tanjiro Kamado as he embarks on a dangerous quest to avenge the death of his family and turn his sister from a demon back into a human being. 7Fighting Rui on Equal Ground
Despite His Lack Of Experience, Tanjiro Fought Bravely
After Tanjiro joined the Demon Slayer Corps, he undertook several difficult missions. But the one that truly pushed him to his limits came whenhe was sent to Mount Natagumowith his friends to investigate a demonic presence. That’s when Tanjiro encountered the dangerous spider demon family.
As Tanjiro locked horns with Rui, the difference in their combat skills became evident. Despite the pressure to protect Nezuko, Tanjiro gave the fierce battle every ounce of his strength. He still struggled to kill the demon; however, it was thanks to his resilience thatRui never got the chance to attackhis friends. Fighting Rui on equal ground, before he’d had much experience, wound up being a defining moment for Tanjiro. The battle shaped and prepared Tanjiro for oncoming challenges, and made him the demon slayer he went on to become.
6Decapitating Gyutaro
Enraged the Demon King and Escalated His Downfall
Gyutaro and Daki surreptitiously established a shadowy dominion in the Entertainment District. There, they made it their stronghold by eliminating any outside interference. The brother-sister duo managed to kill around 22 Hashiras following their demonification. Theyattracted unnecessary attention from the Sound Hashirawhen his female agents went missing during their investigations in the district.
Tengen Uzui, with the help of Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, decided to take matters into their own hands and ended up discovering Gyutaro and Daki’s crimes. Naturally, when the duo crossed paths with the demon slayers, a reckless battle resulted.
While Daki was initially overwhelmed by the Sound Hashira, things took a dramatic turn when Gyutaro showed up. Tanjiro fought Daki, and then helped Tengen fight back against her brother. ButGyutaro’s combat skills were so overpoweringthat most of the demon slayers were either unconscious or barely able to sit. It was Tanjiro’s quick thinking that inspired his comrades again and helped them turn the tables. Eventually, Gyutaro was beheaded by the collective efforts of Tanjiro and his comrades, bringing an end to their violent rule in the entertainment district.
5Defeating Hantengu With His Comrades
Tanjiro & His Friends Took Down the Upper-Rank Four
In the Swordsmith Village Arc, Hantengu accompaniedGyokko as he set out to unleash an unexpected attackon the secret village that supplied the demon slayers with their weapons. The objective was to break the backbone of the Demon Slayer Corps and use the ensuing chaos to their advantage. But little did the demon duo know that Tanjiro, Genya, Nezuko, Mist Hashira, and Love Hashira would be waiting for them there.
When Hantengu crossed paths with Mist Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, and Tanjiro, he attacked them. Things escalated into an all-out battle in the Swordsmith village, with demons determined to wreak havoc. Despite the planning, Hantengu was eventually overwhelmed by the collective efforts of Tanjiro and his friends. As he made a last-ditch effort to save himself, Tanjiro decapitated him, making sure thatthis Upper-Rank Fourdemon did not succeed in his sinister plans.
4Killing Akaza
The Upper-Rank Three of the Twelve Kizuki Was Defeated
In the Mugen Train Arc, Akaza killedthe Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengokuas Tanjiro looked on helplessly. When Tanjiro confronted the demon again in the Infinity Castle, he was determined to avenge the death of his comrade.
The violent fight that broke out pushed Tanjiro to his limits. Luckily, he had Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka by his side, who showed remarkable courage in stressful circumstances. With Giyu’s assistance, Tanjiro eventually surprisedthe Upper-Rank Threeand won a critical battle for the Demon Slayer Corps.
3Ending Muzan Kibutsuji’s Reign of Terror
The Demon King Reigned For 1,000 Years, Until He Met Tanjiro
Demon King Muzan Kibutsujihad kept a reign of terror and violence on humanity for centuries. In his pursuit of immortality, he left no stone unturned and ruthlessly butchered anyone in his path. With the help of the Twelve Kizuki, Muzan continued to grow his influence, which eventually made him appear invincible. But things started going downhill for Muzan after Tanjiro joined the Demon Slayer Corps.
The first serious setback for Muzan came when Tanjiro, with the help of his friends, managedto defeat Gyutaro and Daki. This made the Demon King furious, and each decision he took after that only escalated his downfall. When an all-out battle broke out between the Demon Slayer Corps and demons, Muzan was defeated thanks to the efforts of Tanjiro and his friends.
2Protecting Nezuko
Even After She Turned Into a Demon, Tanjiro Kept His Sister Safe
When Tanjiro’s sister turned into a demon, he was just an ordinary person who was working hard to support his family. In the aftermath of the tragedy, he passed the Final Selection to jointhe Demon Slayer Corps. From the get-go, he faced an uphill struggle to not only shoulder his responsibilities as a demon slayer, but also protect his sister Nezuko.
Furthermore, Tanjiro ran into dangerous demons frequently and had to puthis life on the line to keep Nezuko safe. But despite all the hardships and challenges, he managed to protect his sister, and showed remarkable courage despite the circumstances. What makes this an even more impressive feat is the fact that members of the Demon Slayer Corps, especially the Hashiras, were initially suspicious of the Kamado siblings.
1Resisting Demonification
Tanjiro Refused to Give Into Muzan’s Deceit
On the verge of death,Muzan realized that he has failedto achieve his lifelong ambition of achieving immortality. But determined to keep his legacy alive, he transferred his power and knowledge to Tanjiro’s consciousness. After a long battle against the Demon King, most members of the Demon Slayer Corps were either dead or seriously injured. At this critical moment, Tanjiro turned into a demon, causing panic and fear among his peers.
Nezuko andGiyu immediately sprang into actionto restrain him, while Kanao decided to use the drug developed by Tamayo. Meanwhile, Muzan, with his last ounce of consciousness, proceeded to manipulate Tanjiro to give into his demonification psychologically as well. But despite the physical transformation, Tanjiro remained refused to accept Muzan’s arguments. Eventually, Tamayo’s drug worked, but it was also Kamado’s resilience that ended up saving him from becoming a bloodthirsty demon.
