Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0is one week away from launch, and now Activision has shared more specific timing for its release.Call of Duty: Warzone 2is the sequel to the immensely popularCall of Duty: Warzonebattle royale game, and like its predecessor, it will be a free-to-play experience.
WithCall of Duty: Warzone 2set to launch next week, some may be curious about what will happen with the existingCall of Duty: Warzonegame and itsCaldera map. Unlike howOverwatch 2completely replaced theOverwatch 1file,Call of Duty: Warzone 2and the originalCall of Duty: Warzonewill co-exist in a way, as the Caldera map will still be accessible after the sequel launches, though fans will have to wait for some time after November 16 to get their hands on it again.

Come November 16,Call of Duty: Warzoneservers will go offline at around 8am PT. There will then be about two hours of downtime, and the plan is to bring the servers back online asCall of Duty: Warzone 2at 10am PT to coincide with thelaunch ofModern Warfare 2Season 1. The originalWarzonewill then return asCall of Duty: Warzone Calderaat approximately 10am PT on November 28. Anyone that has played the originalWarzonewill be getting some items to celebrate the launch ofWarzone 2, though specifics are unavailable at the time of this writing.
When is Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Launching?
Warzone Calderawill be where players can access the content they unlocked or purchased in the originalWarzone, the2019Modern Warfaregame,Black Ops Cold War, andVanguard. Substantial new content is not expected to be released forWarzone Caldera, and players will not be able to transfer content between the games. There will not be an in-game store forCalderaeither, for reasons that are currently unknown.
A big downside to this relaunch is that the fan favorite Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep maps, which are both smaller in scale than the typicalWarzonemap, are being removed. Activision has teased thatCall of Duty: Warzone 2will add small mapsin future seasons, but fans of Rebirth Island will definitely want to make sure they play it as much as possible between now and November 16 as it may be gone for good.
