Activision and Sledgehammer Games released a major new update forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3featuring changes for multiplayer, Zombies, and overall gameplay mechanics. Many fan-requested changes were made in this particularCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3update, including a decreased Tac Sprint delay after sliding.
The multiplayer and Zombies game modes forModern Warfare 3launched on November 10 with a variety of new weapons, operators, and gear. Thanks to the Carry-Forward system, returningCall of Dutyfans also have immediate access to their cosmetics and weapons fromModern Warfare 2, allowing them to pick up from where they left off. What’s more,Modern Warfare 3’smultiplayer includesiconic maps from 2009’sModern Warfare 2,such as Favela, Quarry, and Terminal. Sledgehammer Games promises a year’s worth of updates with multiple seasons, and the developers continue to make gameplay adjustments using player feedback from the open beta and the full game’s launch.

The newestModern Warfare 3update brings several bug fixes and changes to multiplayer and Zombies. The new update brings a 75% decrease to Tac Sprint delay after sliding in multiplayer, and the base sprint delay after sliding has been reduced by 53%. The Tac Sprint refresh time was also reduced to match the Infantry Vest/Running Sneakers gear. Sledgehammer Games cites that the sprint delay changes were made after an internal review based on player feedback. As a result,Modern Warfare 3players should notice more fluid movement while running and gunning.
Going forward,Modern Warfare 3players are able to preview weapon camos and aftermarket parts earned from weekly challenges, and weekly challenges will display the base weapon that’s associated with certain aftermarket part rewards. The update’s bug fixes also address exploits that allowed players to equip aftermarket parts without meeting the weapon’s minimum requirements. Additionally, Sledgehammer Games corrected unlock requirements for certain attachments on severalModern Warfare 2weapons. Another notable quality-of-life change involves armory unlocks, since players may now progress armory unlocks withoutcompleting daily challenges inModern Warfare 3.

Modern Warfare 3’sZombies modereceived a slew of gameplay adjustments and changes to progression. Exploits involving weapon and scorestreak duplication were addressed, andModern Warfare 3players should be able to exfil without falling off of the helicopter. A bug fix was applied to the Completionist Golden Enigma and Golden Ivory camos respectively as well. Players should be able to complete the camo challenges for Golden Enigma and Golden Ivory with non-blueprint weapons.

GAMEPLAY
At Launch, we introduced a delay after sliding to the Tac Sprint refresh time. A review prompted by Player feedback determined that the previous delay was too aggressive. Today’s updates aim to improve movement fluidity without making slide and Tac Sprint repetition the only viable choice for Players.
KILLSTREAKS
We are investigating reports of further exploits with the Remote Turret. It will be re-enabled for use once we’ve deemed it is safe.
