Call of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 2’s official trailer has yet to be released by Activision, but that hasn’t stopped it from leaking online. TheModern WarfareSeason 2 leak has been quite eye-opening for fans of the game, confirming some previous leaks and revealing four new maps that will be added to the online multiplayer experience.
Call of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 2will add at least four new maps, though it’s unclear if these new maps will all be added on February 11 or if they will be released throughout the season. The maps included are the previously leakedModern Warfare 2map Rust, a Walmart-like 6v6 map called Atlas Superstore, a new Gunfight map called Bazaar, and a new Ground War map called Zhokov Boneyard.

Modern WarfareSeason 1started with multiple new maps, so it’s possible the same will happen withModern WarfareSeason 2, though that has yet to be confirmed at the time of this writing. Regardless, the new maps should giveModern Warfarefans plenty to do, regardless of which game mode they prefer.
It’s a little surprising that Rust isn’t pulling double duty as both a 6v6 map and a Gunfight map. After all,Rust is aCall of Dutymap famous for its small size, and so one would imagine that it would be perfect for Gunfight. However, it looks like Rust is being slightly altered inModern Warfare, and perhaps those changes are what’s keeping it from being used in the Gunfight rotation. Then again, it’s possible that the leakedModern Warfare 2trailer doesn’t tell the whole story and Rust will indeed be used in both Gunfight and 6v6, like we’ve seen with Shipment.
Rust isn’t the onlyModern Warfare 2map that is coming toModern Warfarein Season 2, though. The Zhokov BoneyardGround Warmap seems to be partly made up of Scrapyard, another fan favoriteMW2map. This could be an indication that Scrapyard will eventually have a standalone release as aModern Warfare6v6 multiplayer map, though that’s just speculation at this time.
Besides new maps,Call of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 2 will also let fans play asnew operator Simon “Ghost” Rileyand much more. Expect more specific details from Activision sooner rather than later.
