Destiny 2: Forsakenis here, and with it has come a cavalcade of new activities and reward mechanics for players to get used to. There’s quite a lot to take in, but Destiny fans need not feel like they have to figure it all out for themselves. Both theDestinycommunity and Bungie have been producing a steady stream of explanations and guides to help guardians get used to the new systems and startincreasing their power level past 500.
Among the changes implemented with the launch ofDestiny 2: Forsakenis a new system governing daily challenges for each major activity in the game. They still reward players with all-important legendary gear, it’s just that each challenge type now resets according to its own schedule. This could potentially be confusing for new players, but Bungie has stepped-in and spelled out exactly how this new system works in their weekly update.
According to Bungie, there are two types of challenges available inDestiny 2right now: weekly challenges and daily challenges. Weekly challenges still follow the normal reset schedule of every Tuesday at 10 AM PDT. Daily challenges, on the other hand, are a whole other animal. These will reset every four days following their initial offering. This was illustrated using the Strike and Gambit daily challenges.
The daily challenge for strikes was initially offered on Tuesday, September 4 and will reset four days later on Saturday, September 8. Similarly, Gambit’s daily challenge was initially offered on Wednesday, so its next reset will come on Sunday. Daily challenges remain until either one completes them or the given activity’s next reset arrives. So, these challenges don’t have to be completed immediately, but players will need to finish them before the next reset. Players will have to do their best to keep track of these resets on their own for now, but there is a possibility ofBungie implementing a challenge reset calendarin the future.
Daily challenges aside, there’s still plenty for players to chase after inDestiny 2: Forsaken. The Tangled Shore needs exploring, the Dreaming City needs cleansing, andCayde’s Exotic Stashneeds finding.Destiny 2may have had problems with purpose and content before, but it looks like the issue has been handily resolved with the launch of Forsaken; for the moment, at least.
