Bungie has detailed changes toDestiny 2’s Exotic Armor pieces and character abilities arriving with Season 22. Bungie had already announced that it wanted torework underutilized Exotics inDestiny 2to improve their use among the players, and it looks to achieve that through these changes.
Bungie recently posted a State of the Game article explaining its future plans for the game and addressing some community concerns. With that, it also addressed some pressing concerns like thestate of Gambit inDestiny 2, and announced a bunch of changes arriving with Season 22 and 23. It also revealed that it won’t be raising the power level cap in Season 22 based on community feedback, but will look to make the game a little more challenging. Now, it has outlined the first set of major changes being made to Guardian abilities and Exotics in the game which will take effect from Season 22.

In a recent blog post, Bungie’s developer team mentioned that their primary goal forExotic armor changes inDestiny 2was to “bolster underused exotics.” To achieve that, it has tweaked several Exotic armor pieces across all three character classes. For instance, Hunter Exotics like Knucklehead Radar, Foetracer, Lucky Raspberry, and Renewal Grasps received significant changes, where the Foetracer got two new perks that will make it a viable choice across game modes. Titan Exotics like Icefall Mantle, Doom Fang Pauldrons, Path of the Burning Steps, and Eternal Warrior received some perk changes to make them more reliable, while ACD/0 Feedback Fence and Hallowfire Heart also received upgrades. As for Warlocks, the Astorcyte Verse received a significant buff where it now makes targets volatile after players blink near them. Additionally, Geomag Stabilizers, Wings of Sacred Dawn, and Winter’s Guile also received significant updates to improve their functionality.
Apart from Exotic armor pieces, several Guardian abilities are also being reworked. For instance, Titan abilities like Barricade and Knockout received significant nerfs owing to player feedback. Furthermore, the Strand subclass that launched withLightfallis also getting its first major rework across all character classes, where several Aspects and Fragments are being tweaked and the Suspend ability is also being rejigged to give it a “healthier role” in the sandbox.
The post also addressed that aDestiny 2Solar Warlock Ability that has been buggedsince a year is finally being fixed in Season 22. Aside from this, an Exotic mission rotator and additional craftable Exotics are also imminent.
Destiny 2is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
