While the game has yet to be officially announced,BioShock: The Collectionreceives a rating by the ESRB, strongly suggesting that the compilation is coming soon.

Despite keeping its cards close to its chest in relation to the alleged HD compilation of all threeBioShockgames, Take-Two Interactive’s rumoredBioShock: The Collectionmay not be a rumor for much longer if the evidence keeps piling up. Following an initial listing on South African retailer Raru’s website, ratings from theBrazil Advisory Ratings Boardand a Taiwanese regulation board, and some leakedBioShockbox art, it’s now the Entertainment Software Ratings Board’s turn to bestowBioShock: The Collectionwith another rating.

Very recently,BioShock: The Collectionappeared on theESRB website, which indicates that the compilation is scheduled for release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The collection was given a “Mature” rating, which is unsurprising given all the violence and adult themes present in eachBioShocktitle. Based on the ratings summary, which states that “this is a collection of three first-person shooters,” it appears that the compilation will containBioShock, BioShock 2,andBioShock Infinite. It is unknown whether theBurial at SeaDLCwill be included in this compilation.

Having said all that, until Take-Two officially announces the existence ofBioShock: The Collection,it’s best to take all this evidence with a grain of salt. But, seeing as how Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick claimed thatBioShockis a “really important franchise”, it’s not outside the realm of possibility thatBioShock: The Collectionwill be announced at some point.

While gamers await for the confirmation ofBioShock: The Collection’s existence (or non-existence), as well as somemoreBioShocksequels, there’sBioShockcreator Ken Levine’s next project to look forward to. Aftershutting down Irrational Gamestwo years ago and moving on with a smaller development team, Levine has since been hard at work on his next game.

Not much has been revealed aboutLevine’s upcoming game, other than it will be an open world first-person shooter. But with Levine recently explaining that his new game will be influenced by critically-acclaimed titles such asFallout,Dark Souls, andhis ownSystem Shock 2, there are promising signs that Levine’s upcoming title will be a worthy follow-up of sorts to thebrilliantBioShock Infinite.

BioShock: The Collectionmay still be a rumor at this point, but there are many fans out there who are keen to revisit an HD rendition ofRapture and Columbia, a fact that Take-Two surely must be keeping tabs on.

BioShock: The Collectionmay have been given an ESRB rating, but Take-Two Interactive has yet to announce the title itself, much less a release date.
