Summary
The combat system inBreath of the Wildseems awfully simple at first glance. There are three types of weapons that have a single combat and charge attack, which may seem rather limitingwhen compared to other open-world action gameswhere players can pull off impressive combos and utilize a wide array of weaponry to take out their opponents.

However, it’s the manner in whichBreath of the Wildcombines this combat system with other gameplay elements that makes it such a blast, with the simplicity of this combat system actually contributing to its overall excellence. Players can also whip out a bow for some well-placed ranged attacks that can decimate opponents with ease, especially if they use a really powerful and effective bow!
7Knight’s Bow
As players progress through the game, they’ll be glad to know that the majority of weak bows they have to deal with early on in the game will become a thing of the past.Breath of the Wildhas a hidden systemthat slowly increases the player’s ‘strength’ by giving them stronger weapons throughout the game, eventually letting them find some of the best weapons that can be used to decimate most enemies with ease.
The Knight’s Bow is one such high-level bow that will wow players when they get their hands on it for the first time. It’s a powerful bow that hits for serious damage and can down tougher enemies in the open world with a single headshot, which is a pretty big flex indeed.

6Great Eagle Bow
Most people reach Rito Village as the last destination in the game, which is a shame sinceRevali’s Gale is perhaps the most useful powerthat helps players ascend heights without too many problems. Another benefit of dealing with Vah Medoh is that players get access to a very useful bow that is highly damaging to boot.

The Great Eagle Bow is Revali’s weapon of choice, and players will love downing the many foes in the game with this weapon. However, to attain this, players have to deal with Thunderblight Ganon first, who is considered by many to be the hardest enemy in the entire game.
5Steel Lizal Bow
It’s hard to believe that a bow used by the regular Lizalfos in the game can be so tough, but that’s precisely why these enemies can be pretty intimidating to deal with if players underestimate them. Their tongue lash attack and swift movements are tricky enough as is, and these enemies even camouflage themselves in the desert!
The Steel Lizal Bow is the toughest bow that these enemies wield in the game. Despite having high damage, the bow doesn’t enjoy any special modifiers to make it memorable. Regardless, players will still love making the most of this weapon in the game, becoming their weapon of choice against regular weapons inthe endgame ofBreath of the Wild.

4Savage Lynel Bow
The Lynels are some of the toughest enemies in the entire game, serving as the hardest natural enemy that players can battle. The first-ever time players battle against this foe is going to be a pretty intimidating affair indeed, with players having to utilize all the best weapons in their arsenal to deal damage during limited windows while trying to avoid the wealth of attacks this enemy can unleash in no time at all.
However, beating this enemy is always worthwhile forthe many unique weapons and itemsthat players can loot right after, with the Savage Lynel Bow being one such weapon that can come bundled with a wealth of unique traits and modifications to make it a blast to use in the game. With Attack Up and Multi-Shot buffs, this weapon can turn into a dealer of death in no time.

3Royal Bow
The Royal set of weapons are all pretty powerful in their own right, appearing near the end of the game in treasure chests and the like (this Redditor managed to collect quite a few, as the image above illustrates). These weapons hit for some serious damage, with the Royal Bow being a reliable damage dealer for players who want to make the most of their arrows.

Most enemies will be toast with a single shot from this bow, proving just how useful this weapon is. That being said, the Royal Bow will still struggleagainst the golden enemies exclusive to Master Mode, and players may have to get up close and personal to deal with these foes.
2Ancient Bow
TheGuardian enemies in the gamepack a serious punch, and players will always panic when they hear their iconic theme start blaring whenever a Guardian spots them. Their lasers are extremely intimidating, and players might as well reload an earlier save if they find no escape from these damaging beams that will take early-game players in one shot.
Thankfully, over time, players will find these enemies to be more manageable. They’ll also be able to scavenge their materials and use them to make powerful Ancient weapons, with the Ancient Bow being the best way to damage Guardian enemies from a distance because of the additional damage they deal to these creations.

1Royal Guard’s Bow
The Royal Guard equipment consists of some of the best weapons that players can find in the entire game. Players can only obtain these weapons in Hyrule Castle, the final dungeon of the game.
The Royal Guard’s Bow deals the highest damage out of any unmodified bow inBreath of the Wild, making it the perfect weapon to beat Calamity Ganon after spending hundreds of hours in this game’s open world.
